I hate our uniforms. It's not the colors, black pants and white shirt, but it's the fact that the white top is not a traditional scrub top. That doesn't really bother me but I think the shirt is intended to be for some sort of other uniform than healthcare I swear. It zips in the front with color on the sleeves. The older uniforms are so much better. It is white button down shirt that is slightly silky with color on the sleeves.
I think the button down shirts look more professional.
Remember, it is potentially identifying if you describe the uniform.
LVN program (2004 and 2005) = Royal blue tops and white pants. I wish the pants had been royal blue, too. It would have made my laundry chores a lot easier.
RN completion program (2009 and 2010) = Maroon top and bottom. I liked this color but the scrubs were unisex, had an unflattering fit and a scratchy, cheap texture due to way too much polyester in the material blend.
I was originally going to one school and their uniforms had white bottoms. I began to DREAD that. So many things can go wrong in white. I understand its supposed to be clean, but eww~
Now the progam I am in has black pants and a maroon top. The top has the school emblem on it. We had a choice between two or three styles of top and bottom, which was nice. I'm really pleased with my uniform, however the prices are awful... I'm going to need to stay this size for the next two years because there is no way I am forking out more money to buy another set
Yeah the prices are bad. Our school has started a recycling program where students can donate their old scrub tops and future students can buy them cheaper. I don't know why, they look pretty bad. I think last semester when I bleached mine they looked a lot brighter.
I am jealous of someone's scrubs. They had black and red.
I am very glad that I didn't start when they required white bottoms. I started in 2012 so I think sometime in 2011 they switched.
Just graduated in May and I hated our uniforms. They were regularly a green pant with a white top with green pin striping and white shoes. I don't wear pants though so the only option I had was a white skirt. So there I was in a white skirt, white top and all white shoes. Everything fit poorly and it was a relief when I could take them off for the last time. :-)
We have this....teal color. I don't know. I've never seen another school with bright teal as their scrub choice. Our school patches are embroidered on by a well known catholic school uniform supply company in Philadelphia so we shelled out a bit for unisex cherokee scrubs with a pretty little custom patch. Most of the girls have no shape in them due to the unisex cut, but at least they chose a style that had a lot of pockets.
I really like our uniforms. Our brand we wear is Landau, and they are all black with yellow ribbon around the sleeves because that is our school colors :). Our patch is yellow too. I have elastic waistband pants because the drawstring pants were waaaay too big on me. I am sort of on the smaller side that is why. I just have regular ole top with two pockets in the front. Very convenient for storing pens and such! My school use to have all white uniforms. I am SO glad they changed them when I got accepted!

White scrub tops any style and maroon bottoms any style (fan of cargo here) white lab coats but here's the kicker. Navy blue scrub jackets. Navy with maroon? Hm..
