Opinion on your uniforms?

I hate our uniforms. It's not the colors, black pants and white shirt, but it's the fact that the white top is not a traditional scrub top. That doesn't really bother me but I think the shirt is intended to be for some sort of other uniform than healthcare I swear. It zips in the front with color on the sleeves. The older uniforms are so much better. It is white button down shirt that is slightly silky with color on the sleeves.

I think the button down shirts look more professional.

Remember, it is potentially identifying if you describe the uniform.

We have black drawstring unisex bottoms and red unisex tops. Awful fit. The nurses on the floor we had clinical on last semester hated them. They said all that red made them crazy!

All white top and bottom. Top is partial zipper. They are hard and crunchy no matter how many times you wash them and all that white makes me feel like I should be scooping ice cream.

The school uniforms that we use are essentially scrub pants that are navy blue in color and a white polo, with a white vest. That is for the RN program. The LVN program uses essentially the same top configuration with a burgundy color scrub pants. Both programs require us to wear white socks and shoes. This is actually kind of nice because although the pants are not typically all that comfortable, we are able to select our own shirts, as long as they are white polo shirts.

Also, from my understanding, on a case-by-case basis, pants that are the required program color may be worn instead of the scrub pants that we typically are required to wear. I have certainly seen it happen where the request was approved or an individual student to wear a program colored pants that were not the scrub pants that were supplied by the uniform vendor. We do have to purchase our uniforms, but apparently as long as it meets the general requirements, it should be okay.

On a slightly different note, the uniform pieces that are typically ordered through the vendor are very, very durable and have lasted for several years. Some of our students are wearing recycled uniforms that look like they have barely been used.

All maroon, both tops and bottoms. The cut was not flattering on anyone, but in my case, because the pants were too short and I had to pull them down really low, they gave me a bulge in the crotch area that wasn't deserved. ;)

So, this year, I went out and bought my own scrubs in a style I love and am going to put our patch on them and see if I can get away with them. A few people had different styles last year, but I couldn't see the point in paying extra for our own scrubs. This year, I get it.

I just want to say that my school used to wear white pants/white top. A bunch of students got together and formed a petition to change the color and they got it changed to black pants and white top. Any brand, then just attach school patch. We all know how terrible white scrub pants are -_-

Ours are all white too

And we had 2 buy the ones THEY want us to use.

I'm still in sticker shock. Almost $300 for 2 sets, yes with zipper in tops, a lab coat and 2 name tags. Gotta love it!!!

Ours are all red, top and bottom, thank goodness because scrubs with different color top and bottom drive me nuts! I guess its just a personal preference/OCD thing. They have some we can buy through the school or we can get our own and have the patch sewn on, I LOVE this because I get to spend money on ones that will actually fit instead of ones I will despise for the next two years.

I loved our uniforms when I was in school. It was all black though with gold lettering. My schools color were black and gold. I cannot image what we would look like if it were the reverse lol. Yellow/golden scrubs...yikes.

Well, those urine stains would never show. ;)

My school used burnt orange scrub tops and black bottoms to match the school colors. They were nice-looking, even though we began casually referring to ourselves as pumpkins. Memories, memories! :D

We get to choose between blue and white, tops and bottoms, and we can get any top and bottom we like as long as it doesn't have ruffles or other fanciness. We have to sew the school patch on the sleeve. I've ordered one set white and one set blue in a style that is simple but looks decent on me. My biggest problem is that I'm busty with broad shoulders but then slim the rest of the way down, so things that fit my top are huge through my midsection. That's not the fault of the specific uniform, though, and I'm glad we got to choose our own tops!
