I am looking to find out if anyone knows of any good online RN to BSN programs. I have already looked at the Excelsior program and the University of Wyoming Programs. Those are the 2 programs that I could find that had reasonable cost. I cant exactly afford some of the $300 per credit hour courses. So if anyone knows of any other moderately priced online programs I would appreciate their input. Thanks for your time.
Generally online courses are the same as on campus courses. Some charge a moderate technology fee. Each college is different. I have seen some who charge their online students in-state tuition rates no matter where they live. The important thing is to check proves yourself.
Thanks for the info. I guess I will stick with CSUDH even though I have moved back East, actually Southeast. One of the nice things about online programs is that the location of the base college or unversity is not a major issue.

In CA is just depends what school you are attending.
If it is all online...you are going to pay both financially and with your time...there is something due each week and generally in a completely online course, the courses are quite expensive ( RN-BSN is about $10,000 )
A few of my colleagues did University of Phoenix and they paid $1600 per six week class( see above figure), which they had to take loans out for. I went to a California University and paid $1100 per semester with no loans needed.
I love the fact that when I start practice I dont' have to worry about loan payments.

Must be nice to enjoy those low tuition rates that CA has. I think they may be the lowest in the nation. Wonder why that is?
10,000 is not unheard of for an RN-BSN program, pretty much the norm I would think.

University of Wyoming is MUCH lower than that. $140 (that includes the online fee per credit hour) per credit hour, and there's only 26-30 hours to take for the entire program if i recall. I could be a little off on that number tho. So basically less than 5K to complete the program online.
Are the prices you have quoted for UW for residents of Wyoming or anyone who takes their online courses?University of Wyoming is MUCH lower than that. $140 (that includes the online fee per credit hour) per credit hour, and there's only 26-30 hours to take for the entire program if i recall. IF i'm reading the material right, its online regardless of where you live. However, go to UW's website, to the nursing program (i don't have the link in front of me) and email them. The head of the dept is Maureen Lutterman, and she's EXCELLENT and answers so many questions. Ask her!!! I think someone here (i'll look and see) is on the east coast doing UW's online program too. I'll let you know.

PM Pixiel. She's doing the program, and i don't think she's a resident of Wyoming. Or go the the Wyoming Nurses Forum, there's a discussion going on there too.

How many classes are required to take there....or the minimum, I should ask? I would like to get as many classes out of the way at the cc during summer semesters, etc, while working on my ADN. After getting my RN, I plan on persuing a RN-BSN.

I originally started out in 1991 planning on getting my BSN, but life's little mishaps didn't let me follow through. Now, I have a scholarship for an ADN, but seriously plan on getting my BSN afterwards. (even if it is just a mind thing...just to know I did it.)
So far I have:
Composition I - A
Compostion II - B
American Lit - B
Student Lit - C
Intro to PYSCH - A
Intro to SOCIO - C
U.S. History - A
College Algebra - B
American GOVT - B
Intro to SPEECH- A
Comp. Literacy - A
Beg. Typing - A
Spanish I - B
Spanish II - B
Spanish III - B
Beg. Tennis - B
Weight Training - A
Beg. Bowling - A
Int. Bowling - A
After my ADN, I also will have: A&P 1, A&P 2, Micro, Dev. Psych, and of course, the required nursing courses, and clinicals.
I just would like to find something 1) I can afford, 2) completely online, 3) with a good reputation, 4) always will be accepted by any hospital, and 5) minimal classes, or many classes I already have, so it won't take an additional four years to complete.
With many universities accepting 60 credit hours to transfer, do they include the nursing courses in those hours? As it is, the ADN program I am going to is 72 credits, I believe. I would hate to have to repeat a class at a university if I already had to take it for the ADN.
