PLEASE! I AM AS REAL AS NURSE AS IT GETS . I WORKED AS A CNA IN A NURSING HOME.WORKED MY WAY THROUGH AN ADN PROGRAM WITH AND BEACAUSE I AM OBTAINING MY BSN ONLINE DOES NOT MAKE ME ANY LESS OF A NURSE IN ANY WAY. I HAVE WORKED WITH 4 YEAR BSN GRADUATES THAT DIDN'T HAVE ENOUGH COMMON SENSE TO GET I&O'S. I HAD A NURSING INSTRUCTOR THAT HAD NEVER WORKED AS A FLOOR NURSE AND DIDN'T HAVE ANY COMMON SENSE. THESE WERE THE NURSES THAT WERE STRONG ON THEORY BUT LACKED SKILLS AND COMMON SENSE. I BELIEVE THAT GOOD NURSES ARE BORN AND THEN EDUCATION MAKES THEM EXCELLENT. :)

Looks like you have a great start. Just by trying to remember and looking at your list maybe need nutrition,chem 1and 2,stats and maybe one more hx. The degree online from UNA is well recongnized. I don't live but about about 80 miles from there. Do you have plans on where you are going to work? At my place of employment after 1 year,if return to school, I pay for it up front and as long as I make a C or better, they pay me back. That may be something to help you decide on where to go to work, if they have tuition reimbursment. Also, UNA gives you credit for all previous nursing curriculim, but I know I had to take 2 more general classes from there because they require to have so many hours from senior college. :)

I Am Working On My Bsn Online From The University Of Northern Alabama.totally Online , I Have One Class Left And Have Never Set Foot On Campus. I Live Out Of State ,but They Don't Charge Out Of State Tuition, They Call It A Distance Learning Fee. I Am Taking A 6 Hour Class $1099. But I Get Tuition Reimbursement When I Get My Grades Back. It's Alot Of Reaseach Mainly,the Clinicals Are Research, No Hands On. You Can Pick Anywhere You Want To Go To Do Clinical.lots Of Online Discussions And Of Course Papers. You Don't Have To Have All Acedemics Completed Before You Start. It Is Called A Flex Track Rn-bsn Program. 1-800-talk-una Is The Number. I Have Loved The Program And Will Recommend It To Anyone That Is Interested In Obtaining Bsn. :)

I Have Worn White For The Last 10 Years And The First Few Years It Was Fine. I Was Proud To Wear My Whites. But Lost It's Appeal To Me And My Facility Has Just Changed 2 Months Ago, We Can Wear Blue Or White Or A Combo Of Blue And White And I Love It. It's Just Nice To Have A Choice. :)

When I worked the floor we used blue food coloring all the time to assess for aspiration, but since that policy has been removed due to complained harm to patient. I THINK IT IS A GREAT IDEA.

I am in the University of Northern Alabama, for my BSN. The nursing classes are totally on-line. I lack 3 nursing classes and 3 academics. I live in Mississippi. I did not have to have an Alabama license and did not have to have all academics before starting. I have taken some academics there on line and by video tape. the video tape classes require a procotor for tests. These are faxed to my hospitals education dept. Also, the hospital I work for is reimbursing me for classes. I just have to make a C. I have been doing this part-part-time. I work full time and have 2 kids and I take 1-2 classes a semester. There is no time limit to have all classes completed. There are 9 nursing classes, (I think). It's ALOT of writing and discussions, but it's not too bad. I would recommend this RN to BSN program to all.

I just completed a community nursing class online from University of Northern Alabama, for BSN. I had to do 3 clinicals, 8 hour each. I had to find my clinicals. Each at a different community setting. Mine were rural clinic, occupational clinic, and health dept. It had to be with a nurse who was a BSN or higher. I had to get info about clinic and RN to send to instructor to approve. There were no skills involved, just to learn how RN benefited community. Of course, there was a paper to be written about each experience. Maybe this helps you some.
