Umson spring 2016 applicants

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello, all!

My name is Christina Smith! I know I started this thread a little soon, but I am sure others are just as anxious as I am about applying! I have submitted my application for the spring 2016 program :cat: I just want to post some background information about myself, and anyone who has been accepted to previous semesters can share some insight with me if the wish!

I have a 3.9 GPA. My science gpa is as follows:

A: A&P 1

A: A&P 2

B Micro (Which was taken in 5 weeks, do they view the length of the semester?!)

I have gotten As in all of my other courses, and just need algebra and chemistry (which I am taking together this fall.)

I have been a CNA for 2.5 years, and have worked as a med tech for 14 months, and have recently been employed by Carroll Hospital as a MED/SURG PCT.

I have not taken my TEAS, but have purchased a study guide and plan to STUDY STUDY STUDY!!

I was accepted into my community college's ADN program, but I want to step outside my comfort zone and head towards my dream school. I am so nervous!!!!!!!!!

Hey guys,

My status just changed. I am Wait Listed. I'm not giving up hope just yet though! However, I am still moving on and planning my next move. Stay encouraged everyone! There's more than one path to success :)

Waited all this time just to find out I've been waitlisted again womp

Hi everyone,

What date is listed on the acceptance letters? I'm trying to figure out when the deposits are due for accepted students.

A girl on another thread said that this week or next week some waitlist people should know if they will get a spot because most people who found out, found out the week before thanksgiving.

My letter is dated november 18, so this Wednesday will be the deadline!

Does anyone know if they have to receive it by the deadline or if the mail has been postmarked before the deadline?

For those on the waitlist, email from the assistant director regarding the waitlist (information some of you may already be familiar with):

"Thank you for your email. Please note that the letters with instructions are being mailed today. Just to explain the waitlist process:

Once the first wave of offers go out, accepted students have two weeks to declare whether they are accepting the offer or not. For every one who rejects our offer, someone on the Wait List will receive an offer. Also, someone on the Wait List can elect to withdraw their application. More transcripts will come in. In short, there cannot be an ordered Wait List because the candidates are always changing in both numbers and revised qualifications. All Wait List candidates are reviewed again to decide which ones will receive an offer. Then they have two weeks to decide and we keep going until the classes are filled. In addition, accepted students will, for one reason or another, decide not to come after all. At that point we go back to the Wait List again. It is sort of a continuous process. Hope this helps!"

Similar response to what Grey Lady has said in the past. I hope some of us on the waitlist get admitted.

@tflores, I think as long as the postmark is before the deadline you should be fine (proof that you did send it before deadline)

@kayrock thanks for the info. I'm not even sure if my mail was postmarked since I just dropped my form in any mail box, not the post office itself. Luckily, I made

copies and I'm on my way to the school now and just dropping it off in person. I'm guessing the admissions office is very busy since I've been trying to call them since yesterday :/

Yeah, if I was admitted I would submit my paperwork in person. But that's just because I'm paranoid about things like that

Has anyone's status updated that the school received your acceptance letter and deposit? I sent mine last week and they still haven't updated anything. Today's my deadline, so hopefully they get it or update it today.

@cgardner8 I actually just visited the admissions office to drop off a copy because I was too paranoid as well since today was the deadline for me. They said they haven't updated anyone's yet. They are still in the process of receiving everyone's mail and to just check again on Thursday. Funny because while I was there, someone also called about their form and their status. We're not the only ones worrying about it haha
