I have pain when I walk. I've been diagnosed with plantaf fasciitis. I'd really like to go to school again but it's hard because of my pain. Does anyone know on where I can get an online BSN that doesn't require any clinical because my condition doesn't allow for much walking. Thanks.

And if It's not too much problem, can I ask you all to please pray that I be cured of my painful feet. I'm 24 years old, and I can't walk without pain =(.

Thanks again...

Are you already an LPN or RN?

I think you have to walk when you work as a nurse. I wouldn't want to go to a program that doesn't have clinicals because that's when you're going to learn pretty much everything.

LearningRN,

Try Chamberlain's online program. RN - BSN. I don't think they require more clinicals. Are you being treated by an orthopod??? If not, please make an appt. ASAP. Birkenstock shoes also help.

If you have your RN already and are getting your BSN you won't necessarily have to do any clinicals if you go online. Some have clinicals you can do in your own local areas. Some don't require clinicals at all. I agree that when you graduate you are going to have to be able to walk, even with an office type job. I have plantar fascities and it does get better with time and the type of shoes you wear makes a big difference as well.

To answer some questions:

I am an ADN RN and currently work in QA. Although I may not be able to do hospital work, I still want to advance my education.

I have seen many different types of doctors and still I have the pain.

Thanks again for all the advice.

Does anyone have a specific name of a school that doesn't require clinical if there are any?

Thanks again.

I would love to walk and do clinicals but unfortunately my condition prohibits me and I have to make the most of it...

Try University of Texas at Brownsville, its all online. You will be doing all reports and papers, no patient care at all. I think they shortened the program to 2 semesters down from 3. http://blue.utb.edu/BSN/ . This is where I recieved my bachelors but that was 4 yrs ago and wasn't all online.

My RN-BSN program still had clinicals but they were not in a hospital setting. It was more leadership/community type clinicals. Most RN-BSN programs assume that you already have the skills of an RN and they are not further training people in clinical tasks. Doesn't Excelsior have an RN-BSN program?

Hoping and praying for the best for you and your painful condition. :icon_hug:

I think Tweety answered this question for someone a short while ago. If I remember correctly, he went to the FL Hospital BSN program. I am not sure if it is online, though. He was talking about spending some time following a supervisor as part of his clinical and teaching a class at his home. I hope you find a program that suits you. You are really young to have all of these foot problems. I had plantar tendon fasciculitis several years ago. I had to get cortisone injections and change shoes. I hope you feel better soon.

Yep, Excelsior has an RN-BSN program and also a BNS/Masters combo type program. In this area a few universities have the 1 day a week for 18 months BSN program - that might be an option too.

I have no advice about the programs, but you are in my prayers. That is a horribly painful condition. Mine did get better after a long time, and still flares if I'm not careful, but during the worst of it I could barely walk. It can be quite crippling. Wishing you healing and good luck in your schooling.
