OMG I feel terrible

Published

I just finshed my A&PII winter 06' semester. Grades were just posted a few minutes ago. I recieved a FAT D. I am so upset. I didn't take A&P I yet. My school doesn't teach A&P I in the winter, and also don't require that you take them in order. SO all semester I've struggled, but I didn't feel to bad because everyone in my class struggled. After every test my instructor would always state the class everage as beibg in the 60% range. He actually posted the grades outside of his office yesterday. Out of 100 students there were no A's, 3 B's, and the rest C's, D's, and F's. I feel like such a failure. All that I do is think about nursing school. I decided to drop my other classes that I registered for this summer, and re-registered for the same A&P II course with the same instructor. Ironically he's the only instructor teaching this course. I wanted to transfer to another school this fall. But I'm scared to send them my transcripts, which I planned to do this week because they'll see the big FAT D.What should I do? I feel so discouraged. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:o

Honestly, I would start out with A&P I and then retake the A&P II afterwards. I've yet to take either class, but I would think that it would just flow better with the A&P I taken first.

Your best bet would be to find an A&P I class. Without the groundwork that I lays, I feel you would just be spinning your wheels the second time around in II.

Good luck

Don't worry about transferring to another school...a D is not considered transfer credit. I would find another school where things are taught in a better order. There is absolutely no reason why you shouldn't be admitted at another college! Here at my school you need to pass A&P1 with at least a C to be able to sign up for A&P2. Good luck and I hope you can put this not so good experience behind you, soon.

Thanks for the words of wisdom. But I've been sitting here thinking and I think I'll keep the A&P II for the summer. Reason being is now I know what to exxpect from this course. I was really caught off guard before, I''ll tough it out. Summer semester literally starts in one week. So I should be ok.

Well I was just on my schools website, it appears that A&p I&II are both being offered this summer. Do you think that I should take them together.

No.

Wow thats strange. I'm not expert but Ive never heard of a college allowing you to take A&P 2 first. I'm sure they call it A&P 1 and A&P 2 because one is where you start out and it lays the knowledge leading up to the other.

The big thing here is that You should take 1 first regardless so that you can understand the material. I know grades are important in nursing school and getting classes done and over with is to, but it is also important to learn the information in the right order so you can use it thought nursing school and anything you do in nursing period ya know.

my opinion is that you should take 1 in the summer BY ITSELF, then take 2 when you can

good luck

Another thing to remember is that some nursing schools only allow you to take A&P 2 times... you don't get more than 2 tries... I know My school has that as a criteria. I was just accepted into Nassau Community College and they made it clear when I was applying that you will not be considered if you have tried A&P more than twice... I guess they would look at the higher of the first two grades but they won't look at any of the other tries, even if you got an A!

So be careful... I think you should take A&P1 first and then take A&P2 next semester.... at least you'll have the one out of the way.

Good luck either way! :)

NO WAY!!

Take 1 first, then go back to 2 (my opinion). I'm finishing up 2 and I think without taking 1 I would've been lost.

A&P is a really tough class, I am taking A&P 2 right now and I am really stressed out about this class. It's the only class I'm taking this semester! I agree with what other posters have said about taking A&P I first. If I didnt take A&P I first I would be so lost! I also wouldnt take both courses at the same time during the summer, that would be too stressful for me! Good luck this summer!! I know you will do fine!!:)

hmm..tight situation. I would def. take ap 1 over first. It would be good to start off again w/ clean slate =) change the D to a A=). You dont want that D on ur transcript - take it away as fast as u can~
