I have to work tonight, which means I'll get off tomorrow morning at 0730, drive for one hour, then fall into bed til I don't know when. Thank goodness, hubby like to cook Thanksgiving dinner! Hope I won't have to clean up the mess. I guess I could get up to eat some though, tee hee.
I am working Thanksgiving, the day after and this weekend...UGH! I am also working Christmas Eve and Day. I got New Years Eve and Day off and also the day after Christmas. Only my second holiday season, so I wasn't surprised. Everything goes by seniority at my place. I don't mind though...LTC becomes a little family of it's own so I'll spend the day with the work fam then be off at 3 for the blood fam...:)
I'm making cranberry banana muffins right now for my co-workers. I figure we can all have a nice Thanksgiving breakfast together :)
Well, I am working tonight and Thanksgiving noc. We do self scheduling so I guess I did it to myself. Though, I am away from my family, so it will keep me busy! PLUS DOUBLE OT!!!
:rotfl:
Also working Christmas eve (days), New Years Eve (noc) and New Years Day (noc)! Boy, will I like my checks this holiday!:chuckle
I hope EVERYONE has a great holiday season!!!!!

It would be nice to get extra $$$ when I work a holiday....nice to know some of ya'll do get extra $$$. Some hospitals do the right thing here....mine pays us like it's any weekday shift.
That is horrible! Ours pays time 1/2 for day shift & evening shift. You also get a "free" day off since you have to work the holiday. I am working tomorrow & Friday. But, feel fortunate since I have Christmas and the day after off.
Have a happy & safe Thanksgiving everyone!
Due to my schedule, I would only have the holiday off and then back again for the next day. I sent my hubbie off to visit his family and I am working Thanksgiving, Christmas eve, Christmas day, New Years eve (night shift) and New Years day( night shift). I don't really mind, I don't want to do the family thing at the holidays. I am just going to buy a turkey breast on my way home tonight and cook it so that I have something for dinner and I love cold turkey sandwiches after the holiday. Also the staff that I am working with are all bringing in snack food so that we can have fun even though we are at work.
To all my friends and other writers in this board, have a great holiday and may there be peace in the world someday.
i work too! but my mom said we are going to have a eaily dinner because i have to work i work from 2 to 9 i also work christmas eve it sucks to work but i would feel worse if a mother or someone who was married had to work because most of the moms i work with are single moms they should have this time to be with there kids and i am only a high school kid and my parents can work around me so i dont really mind working even though i want to spend it with family

My husband works retail and so I pretty much say goodbye to him on Thanksgiving until some time in early January.
