OHSU BSN 2016 Applicants

Published

Hey everyone! I am applying for OHSU BSN monmouth program this coming Fall for the 2016 school year! I would love to get a thread started :) It was so helpful last year! I will also be applying for Chemeketa this year.

Hope to hear from you all soon!

They said it would be a month at the latest but probably we will find out in 3 weeks!

AHHHH! THAT'S SO SOON!!!

Specializes in Emergency Room, CEN, TCRN.

So soon? Don't you mean about damn time to finally get to quit worrying about this whole ordeal?

But that's what I mean! Hahaha. That's less worrying that I felt like I was going to do. 3 weeks? I was ready to wait 5. I don't think my nerves could take that.

Specializes in Behavioral Health.
I was told that for the Monmouth campus they interview 64 applicants and 32 get accepted. I guess it's different for every school. It probably also depends on the faculty and if there are enough teachers, maybe?

Basically. They need one clinical instructor for every 8 students. Also, larger cohorts require more resources (for simulation, labs, etc), create more papers to grade, and require more faculty hours. So all of that goes into deciding the size of each cohort.

Specializes in CVIMCU/CVICU.

Did anyone that interviewed for the Klamath campus happen to go to the Q&A session? I couldn't go due to travel plans but was curious about what they talked about.

I just got the email! I GOT IN!

That is wonderful!!! Portland, right?

So does OHSU ask more personal questions like: why do you want to be a nurse? What are you strengths/weaknesses? Etc.. Or do they ask all situational questions like: what would you do if a coworker was bad mouthing the company you worked for on social media? Someone told me it was all situational.

Also, I get really nervous during interviews. Did the interviewers make the process less nerve-wracking? How many interviewers and interviewees were in your group?

Right on. Sounds like they move quick on the interview is over. Congratulations, hopefully we'll see a lot more similar posts in the upcoming weeks!

The La Grande campus. And yes I interviewed last Friday and got the email this morning.

Wow that was fast! Congratulations!!

Thank you! I'm not sure it's quite hit me yet lol. Good luck to everyone! Can't wait to hear from more of you guys about getting in!
