OHSU BSN 2016 Applicants

Published

Hey everyone! I am applying for OHSU BSN monmouth program this coming Fall for the 2016 school year! I would love to get a thread started :) It was so helpful last year! I will also be applying for Chemeketa this year.

Hope to hear from you all soon!

At times I was so nervous when I finished answering a question I thought "what did I just say". And then it made me more nervous to hear that they were interviewing 60 people for 26 open spots. It's silly but I just felt so confident until now. Keeping my fingers crossed though.

60 for 26 slots? I was under the impression the interview phase was a 50-50 shot.

Either way, my personal theory is most of the people who are obsessive and dedicated enough about getting in to a program that they post in their spare time to talk about the process of applying to that program with strangers on the internet are probably more likely to get in -- there are A LOT of acceptances among posters in previous years' threads. Don't sweat it :D

On a side note: All you Portlanders interviewing today, good luck!

Did a professor say that they interviewed that many? Klamath falls usually interviews 48 and 24 get in

Yes they told us at the beginning of interviews at the La Grande campus that 89 applied, 60 are interviewing for 26 spots and 12 alternate spots.

I didn't realize la grande interviewed the same day as Klamath. I was told that all campuses were 50/50 for interviews so that's strange.

Had my interview today for the Portland campus! I was a nervous wreck before going but everyone was so nice! All of the other applicants were super friendly and the environment was much for comfortable than I had anticipated. Overall I think I did ok...the interview itself made me nervous but I was able to answer all the questions and the essay wasn't bad at all. Good luck to everyone else that has interviewed or will be interviewing!

How exciting! I'm sure you did awesome! Did they say when you would know if you got in or not?!

I think 24 interviewed on Thursday and 23 on Friday.

Oh and one more thing...they couldn't tell us how many people applied this year to the Portland campus but they are interviewing 90 people to fill 40 spots!

They said it would be a month at the latest but probably we will find out in 3 weeks!

I was told that for the Monmouth campus they interview 64 applicants and 32 get accepted. I guess it's different for every school. It probably also depends on the faculty and if there are enough teachers, maybe?

They might interview just a little over that 50-50 ratio so they have names to form an alternate list. I wonder if each campus has different sized wait lists based on capacity?
