i got the biggest surprise today, my manager had called to see if i wanted to work, but i had already left. the surprise i got was she talked to my wife and told her how much they love me being here, that she knew how rough it was on me here at first. she told her i had proved my self well and is glad i am here. she told her she lets no one talk bad about me,if and when they do she sets them straight and tells them how wonderful i am.
i know she took up for me on the first day i started, one of the docs wanted me fired because i was male. i overheard her telling him that their was no way she would do that ever.
it felt so good to here my wife tell me of her conversation. I really love working here and plan on staying for a long time. it is wonderful to finally work at a place that totally supports me. my coworkers are terrific they talk so highly of me to patients and other nurses that i want to work hard so i don't disappoint them. the docs and midwives are also treating me terrifically. I got invited to sit in on the monthly breakast with our ceo to discuss issues concerning our department. even he was in total support of me.
I am so happy i hope it is not a dream! If it is please nobody wake be up i want it to last forever!

Mark, glad you're happy. But this just jumped off the page......you gotta be kidding me??? A doc wanted you fired because of your GENDER?? I would have had a hard time not saying something like, 'hey, I want you fired because you're an a$$hole, but we can't always get what we want, now can we?'
What a butthead.

Mark!
Today with an awesome couple I had, the OB doctor was in doing a check when the patients started telling her how I was an awesome nurse, better than any other of the nurses they had with their 3 children.
The doctor sat up and said you know what, he is one of the best nurses on the floor. This doctor never ever comments or applauds us nurses. So my head swelled a little bit. Never felt prouder of where I worked and what I did.
I to feel good about where I work.
Take care all, and watch it I think there is a full moon somewhere in the world, our deck has been CRAZY!

it is a great feeling when you hear something like that. watch out you don't get big head syndrome. I have had to ward that off once or twice myself. gret to hear you are doing well also.
