Hello everyone! I have submitted my application and my transcripts to NYU for the ABSN program beginning in fall 2013! I am very excited but surprised that we will be hearing so late about an admission decision. Is anyone else applying?
For folks who are still waiting for a response, did any of you apply priority deadline? I have expressed some frustrations with the Admission counselors regarding this because there seems to be no advantages of doing priority deadlines. From what I understand, priority deadlines just mean the committee takes a look at your application first and if 2 admission committees do no agree, they pull their application to the bottom of the list. From there, a third person comes in and does final approval. Reading from last year blog shows that some people were offered admission way late, sometimes after the June deadline. Regardless of who you talk to, they will always give you the cookie cutter response that decisions are made 6-8 weeks after you apply, or after the April 1 deadline. Following this thread, it seem that some people were offered admission immediately. I don't think people who haven't heard back should lose hope. They may be saving the best for last... :)
My husband has a theory that we're all on some kind of wait list because it seems like there are several Tuesdays and Thursdays going by where nothing is being sent out. It could be that they did a big rush of acceptances and rejections, and now there is a pause while they wait to hear back from people before they make more decisions. I have no idea if that's true, just a theory!
