NYP Hiring Process

U.S.A. New York

Updated:   Published

Hi Everyone this is my first post. I was lucky enough to score an interview with NYP where I met with a hiring manager as well as a director of a unit. I am wondering for those who have applied for RN positions how long did it take to hear back with a job offer? Or possibly a job denial. I would love to hear from those who have ben hired here as I am really anxious. Thank you.

Great! I was able to see my status right away. They also told me that they would contact my recruiter and have her reach out to me but that never happened. It's certainly hard to hold out hope for this position. I'm going to have to reach out to things far less desirable soon.

Hi! I know this thread is old, but I'm in a similar situation- going on week #2 of waiting! Just wondering if you guys were hired? If so, how long did you wait for a call from HR?

My application changed from under consideration to in process. Any insight on if this is a positive change? Thanks

Has there been any success stories after the wait to be hired by NYP?

I applied June 21, got called in for an interview for June 23 after a brief phone interview. Interview went well, I thought I got the job. I had a 15 min interview with talent acquisition and then another 30 min interview with nurse manager and PCD which was very relaxed and I felt I connected a lot with both of them. I was told the PCD was going on vacation and I would get an answer within 1-3 weeks. Kept checking back on the workday application site relentlessly and still showed up as in process. I followed up with HR and talent acquisition but couldn’t get in touch with anymore.

Third week in august I get an email from the talent acquisition asking for references. I thought this is a great sign! Upload my references and now 2 weeks after I got an offer over the phone :). Took very long and was very stressful but just wanted to post here in case anyone was still holding out hopefully.

Hi, congratulations on this big achievement. I just recently had my interview last week with both HR and the unit manager. The same day the HR department asked for references so I had them upload and completed by my references. It has only been one week but I'm so nervous. Any advice? Thanks ?

I am in the process of interviewing for a position here as well. I have applied before, and I do recall the process being very 'glitchy' (as it was this time as well), before getting to the interview stage. With any large healths systems, we need to remember that there are thousands of people applying for hundreds of jobs daily. It was just about a month ago that I applied for the position, and I'm actually surprised at the process thus far (that it has been quicker than I expected/).

Oh ok . This is true?. So we need to have patience and be glad that we made it one step further. Did you ever take their exam, if so, how was it?

I got a call back, interviewed and hired all within a month. Not sure if the timing was good or I was just lucky.

The easiest exam you’ll ever take. Just follow the RN study guide floating around this site. You don’t need anything else.

Hi All,

I interviewed for a new grad RN position on 11/6, and then Monday 11/11 I was asked to submit references. First question: is this a good sign? Second question: do you know how long it takes to get a call back about the position after you submitted your references? I emailed the recruiter 11/18 because someone had reached out regarding interviewing for a different position at NYP, but she couldn’t move foward bc I was currently being considered for the original position. Anyway, the recruiter (who is so nice BTW) asked me which position I would prefer. I responded that I’d prefer the original position that I interviewed for, and that I really want to work at NYP Cornell, and I didn’t want to miss an opportunity. I haven’t heard back since. Any insight anyone has would be much appreciated. I’m still interviewing other places, but I’m hoping to get an answer so I can move forward.

Thank you for your advice:)
