Nvcc fall 2016

Published

Hi,

I just need some insight from all of you...I am planning to apply for nursing at NVCC for fall 2016. I have finished all my prerequisites and general requirement with the gpa of 3.7 but my teas score is on the lower side. I still have two chances to take it again but the student services have told me that since I passed I can't take it again. Is it true? If I were to take it again, will the nursing team take my highest score for consideration? Any help will be appreciated! 😊

Hey everyone. So they fixed my application status today, so that it doesn't say I'm missing anything now. All it said in the email was that it was fixed/updated and will be sent to the department for consideration. When they say department they do mean the nursing department right? I was just wondering exactly what your guys emails about your application stays said. Or if I'm just over analyzing.

Glad to hear that they were able to fix your application status for you in a timely manner! To answer your question - yes, when they say "department," they mean the nursing department. They make the final decisions as to who is/is not accepted into the program. You're not overanalyzing, don't worry!

My email said "your application will be sent to the department" under comments as well.

I am glad to hear they fixed everything. If they said they sent your application to the department, then they sent it to the nursing department and your application is being considered. Hopefully we all make it in to the program.

Thanks guys, I hope we all get in too!! So glad this waiting period is almost over.

Just want to confirm, we are supposed to hear about our acceptance on Friday right? Or is it the following Friday? How is everyone coping with this waiting, I know it is killing me.

According to the person who runs the MEC FB page, the earliest we'll be hearing back regarding our acceptance is this Friday. Although it is not certain that all (or any) notifications will go out this Friday. If they do not send anything out this Friday, it will be any day sometime next week before Friday the 24th.

They did say, though, that the acceptance notification emails are typically sent out in batches. Which means that all of those who are accepted (or at least a majority) will be notified together, and those who are not accepted will be notified at around the same time together also.

Just thought I'd update you guys!

So I chatted with the person from the MEC Facebook page a few minutes ago to ask if we would be hearing anything from the nursing department as soon as this Friday, and they have told me that it may not be as soon as this week. They said that the applications go through a process to see if the candidate is qualified and typically takes more time. Therefore, we may not be hearing back until next week. I'm actually not surprised to hear that, as their were nearly 400 applicants anyway.

I also asked if we would know how many applicants will be accepted anytime soon. They said that it should be sometime next week that we find that out.

They will also be posting when emails are going out on their Facebook page. So it's good to know that they will do that (from what they told me, at least). Whoever runs the page does a good job of keeping everyone updated during this waiting period.

Thanks for the update, Jennifer!

Thanks! That's good to know! I'll just think next Friday then. And try to keep busy

Thanks everyone - trying to stay busy as well.. fingers crossed for everyone!

Most recent update on the MEC fb page is that LPN to RN applicants will be notified of their acceptance in the next few days. I was hoping they would notify the Traditional applicants first. Is everyone here for the Traditional nursing program?

I'm watching the live Q&A right now - he just said 20% will be accepted.. that seems really small?... :-/
