I am a current nursing student and am looking for a part time job in the medical field. I am working on updating my resume and was unsure if I should add my clinical experience to it. I am just about to complete my second clinical rotation and feel like the skills I have learned would be a great addition to my resume. If it is ok to put on my resume, would I put the information under the work experience or education section? Thank you in advance for any advice. I have never been all the great at writing resumes. I had an A in Micro and A and P one, and a B in A and P 2. My GPA was a 2.8 (when I first went to NOVA I did not take it seriously) but the last 2 years I have had A's and B's in all of my classes. I think they just look at your last 12 credit hours. I got a 100% on my Math TEAs, around a 71% on my grammar, and an 87% on my reading. I feel like my math is what helped me with having such a low score on the grammar section. It sounds like it used to be a lot easier to get in, but more people are applying, and they are taking less people. I would deff say if you do not have an A or B in your sciences retake them, it seems like no matter how high your TEAs scores are if you do not have an A or B in the sciences you will not get in.

I applied to the traditonal with same GPA and did not get in but my teas were high 80s for math and reading and high 60s for grammer.

I was accepted into the hybrid program. I had an A in micro and A and P one. A B in A and P 2. I got 100% on my math TEAs, an 89 on the reading and mid 70s on the grammer. I finished all my corequs with As and Bs in all of them.

Has anyone else heard anything?

I just found out I have gotten accepted into the hybrid nursing program at Northern Virginia Community College. I am so excited, but also very nervous. I have orientation on the 30th, however wanted to see if there was anyone on here who have done either a hybrid program at NOVA or the regular program and can let me know how it is. I am hoping to work at least 20 hours a week, but am not sure it is possible and would like to know. My husband is willing to pick up more shifts to support me while I am in nursing school, however he already works 50+ hours a week, so I would like to keep him from having to work too much more. Has anyone done the NOVA program and still been able to work? I have completed all my co-requisites, and am hoping that will lighten my load. Sorry for the rambling, I am so excited but also feel so lost as to what I should be expecting.

I have all my co-req classes complete. I got an A in A&P 1 and Micro, and a B in A&P 2. My reading teas was 87%, english and language was 71% and math was 100%. I really think it was the 100% in math that helped a lot. I hope you guys all hear from them and have all gotten in as well.

I just got an email saying I got a provisional acceptance. Did anyone else get one?

I did not get one about providing something either. When I applied to the Fall 2016 program no one mentioned getting an email like that either. Did anyone who got one of the email's asking for a passport move to the area recently? I know with the domicile review they look at where everyone is located and give priority to people located in the vicinity of the campuses, then the people who are out of the immediate area or out of state are considered.

Just got my email saying that my application has been processed. Hope to hear something about acceptances soon.

Hey guys I just spoke with someone from NOVA student services and she said that they are still processing some of the applications. She said that they were behind due to the large amount of applications that they received, but could not tell me how many it was that they had gotten. Hoping by the end of the week to hear something.

I have not gotten on either. I think I will call NOVA on Monday or Tuesday if I still have not heard anything

I have not gotten an email either. I applied to the Fall 2016 program and I feel like the sent emails out over 3 days saying that applications were received. I am hoping that is the case this time around. I am super nervous though. I saw someone had said something about 400 people applying and 200 being qualified, does anyone know if that was in regards to they Jan 2017 start, or was it in reference to the Fall 2016 start, because that was about what we had apply then. Also what is qualified, like just meaning you meet the minimum requirements, or qualified as in being competitive. Other than my TEAs score in grammar (70.8%) I feel semi confidant with my other scores and grades, but am worried that will pull me down.

I have yet to hear from them about my application. I know it was received because I got certified mail receipt after someone signed for it, but am still waiting on NOVA to email me that my application has been processed. Has anyone gotten an email from them just saying that their application was received and processed? I hope there are not 400 people applying, I was really hoping there would not be as many for this start date. Megan

I applied to the Fall program and did not get in so I am retaking my TEAs and hoping to do a little better. Has anyone taken the version 6 exam? For the Fall start date we did version 5 so I am a little unsure how different this will be. Good luck to all of you!
