Nutrition!!!!!

Hey everyone!!

I am taking Nutrition online. It is a little harder than I thought it would be. I guess it's just because some of it I find kinda......boring!

So it then makes it hard to wanna read it and I didn't do too well on the first test. Does anybody have any advise?? Has anyone else taken this class??

Hello. I am doing nutrition online this semester also. I thought it was going to be an easy course. We just had our first quiz and I too didn't do so hot, 24 out of 30. But, now that I know what to expect, I think I will do better with the next quiz. We have lots of supplemental material, little videos, different websites, that the teacher took some of the questions from on the quiz. I have gone through these and wrote down all the information, not just relying on the text information for the quiz. Good luck with your course!

I have been wanting to ask someone about nutrition. I am thinking of taking it online winter semester. Do you think it will be to much to handle the nutrition online and anatomy and physiology part 2? I heard alot of people complain it is hard. Is it a lot of reading? I feel the exact same way with my sociology class right now, my instructor is extremely boring.

I am so sorry you find this class boring. I wonder if this is because it is on line. When I took nutrition I loved it, it is still one of my favorites. The text we had for my class was very interesting. Even though I spend a lot of time and effort on my three diet studies it was still a lot of fun. We even had to write up a curriculum to teach a class on a subject we learned in her class. I did mine for a group of pregnant woman on the importants of breastfeeding, tips etc. I ended up with an A in the class. There were a lot of non-nursing majors in my class. They were taking it because it fix a transfer requirement (other choices were sociology ect) but they took it thinking it was going to be a cake walk...it is not just learning about the food guide pyramid!! :rotfl:

Check out this link, my teacher showed it to us it is really cute:

My fiancee is taking nutrition online. He loves it. The teacher requires a lot of discussion board to keep the class moving and keep everyone in touch with each other.

Nutrition is alot harder than people realize. I loved it and ended up getting a BS/MS in nutrition and loved almost every class. Some people liked it and some not.

I've heard comments about online nutrition courses, saying how easy it was. So, I'm sure it's just the different instuctors.

I plan on taking this online in the future.

To the OP:

Now you know what to expect, and you know what is required of you. It is hard to get into what you feel is boring, but if you want a good grade, you just have to suck it up and do it. (I've had classes like that before...just killed me to read the 50-60 paged chapters each day b/c the classes were fast-track courses! OUCH!!!)

My motto:

Motivation, Dedication, Determination!!!!

Remember what you are going for & get a good grade.

Good luck! :)

Hiya .. I'm taking it through distance education and it's fine so far! I find it quite interesting although with my other courses starting up it's harder to get at the reading. Any ideas how we can all inspire/help one another?

I'm also taking it online and am finding it is the easiest class i have. My instructor is awesome. He makes his own notes for us and also a study guide for each chapter..the test is almost the same as the study guide. I ended up making a 96 on my first test :yelclap:

I have taken Nutrion and I loved it, made an A. It is harder than what you think it is, ours had a chemistry pre-req and we had to understand the macromolecules, dehydration sythesis, etc and some people just didn't get that type of orgo-chem stuff while I really enjoyed.

Anyways, it was one of my fav classes to date!

To the OP, some classes can be boring and maybe taking Nutrition online your instructor can't make it more fun, which is a shame because it's actually a very interesting topic. You know what is expected and now you just need to do the work.

The nutrition class that I am taking right now is just like that. We just finished talking about macromolecules and condensation/hydration reactions. Sure the first lecture was really boring, but once it got to this part it became more interesting. Today's class was about lactose intolerance.

Speaking of today's class... I missed it!!! Damn it! For some stupid reason I forgot all about the class and left campus. I came back to campus for the class immediately after it. Stupid... Hahahaha! I really wanted to hear about the subject because I'm lactose intolerant.

Oh well...
