  1. I had posted this somewhere else and haven't gotten a response so thought i'd post here as well. I have my first rotation in the l&d department next week and am wanting to be as prepared as possible. Does anyone know what the nurses role in that department is? I'll be following an RN.
  2. I'm in Texas and i know my sister in laws sister in law :) got a job at a nursing home starting at $18 right out of school. I'm hoping it's as easy for me once i finish school.
  3. I just got accepted into the lvn program. It starts in jan. and runs to december. They gave us an estimated cost of about $6500. In order to get into the program, you have to take psychology & A&P 1 and II. You also have the option of getting medical terminology, nutrition, and pharmacology out of the way before starting the program which i did so it'll be a little easier. Good luck in whatever you choose to do!
  4. we weren't allowed to use them either...i was so worried, but did very well!
  5. I had my first A&P II class today and i'm not digging it! Our teacher is teaching at another school and we have to watch her on tv...the whole time she's cutting out and the screen isn't always clear...plus because she's not actually in the class everyone else thinks they can talk which distracts me even more . On a good note though we're having an open lab so that should be fun. I'm so looking foward to getting this last pre-req out of the way!!
  6. I'm currently taking nutrition online along w/A&P 1 lec & lab, pharmacology, & medical terminology. I find that taking nutrition along w/A&P is helping me out since some of the stuff we're learning in both classes at the same time. It does help that my nutrition instructor puts notes & pictures as well as a study guides up for each chapter and we're able to email him whenever if we're not understanding something and he's real quick to respond back. So far i seem to be doing well...Between all my classes i have at least 1 test a day..sometimes more and i have a 1 1/2 and 2 1/2 year old..lol It might be hard but as long as you study you can do it!!!!
  7. I haven't taken it yet but if i haven't already missed it i'm planning on it...I ordered a study guide from their site..i dont remember the link but i did a search for it and came up with it. I think the book was $23 and i got it in 2 days.
  8. I was confused at first but i got it now :)
  9. Ladies thanks so much!!
  10. Ok so if i convert the .75 grams to mg that would be 750 mg
  11. i have a test tomorrow and she gave us a study guide but i'm so lost and have no idea how to figure the following out...if anyone can help i'd really appreciate it!! 1. Depakene 0.75 grams is prescribed. Depankene syrup is labeled 250mg per 5 mL. Give____ mL 2. Dosage Available: Furoxone 50 mg per tbsp Dosage ordered: Furoxone suspension 0.1 g po QID Give____ mL
  12. I too am feeling a little guilty..i have 2 children under 3 and am expecting my 3rd. Right now i'm just trying to get my pre reqs out of the way so it wont be as hard once i start the nursing program. I think more than feeling guilty i'm feeling overwhelmed. I haven't gotten into a routine yet and just feel there isn't enough time to do everything that needs to be done plus study. I'm taking 14 credits (a&p 1 + lab, online nutrition, pharmacology, & medical terminology) a&p and pharmacology are killing..i have a test everytime i have class from the chapter we learned the week before...but i know eventually once i get into a routine things will be alot better...i just need to figure out how too :)
  13. I'm also taking it online and am finding it is the easiest class i have. My instructor is awesome. He makes his own notes for us and also a study guide for each chapter..the test is almost the same as the study guide. I ended up making a 96 on my first test :yelclap:
