In my class, we have a test tomorrow on unit 3. Today we finished lecturing on unit 5. Does it bother anyone else when professors lecture way past what the next test will be about? I get that they are pushed for time, and I know that's why they do it. Still, it makes me feel overwhelmed and behind. What is your pet peeve about nursing school?

Could be worse. We are teaching ourselves as we have multiple new professors who arent familiar with the material they are teaching.
What I have found thus far is that being an amazing clinician does not necessarily translate into being an amazing professor.

Not only do I hate when they lecture past the test material, I LOATHE when they lecture AFTER the tests. Buddy, my brain is fried, I cannot understand any of the words coming out of your mouth hahahaha. They do this for ALL classes at the school, because people complained that they paid for a 3 hour class, they should get a 3 hour class. My nursing class is now a 4 hour class that I go to right after a full work day. Pretty sure I'll be falling down dead after exam 1. Good luck with your semester!

This is why I think all college classes should be changed to hybrid classes. You teach yourself what you need to know, while having a teacher that can answer questions for you, and the only time you actually go to a class is for labs.
Plus it seems the most fair with the common college trend of "teach yourself." And then you're not paying that extra money for an in-person class with a teacher that barely touches on anything you need to learn.

eh no. My learning style is listen and take notes. So hybrid would not work for me, I'm not a textbook learner. I just can't learn anything after a test haha

I have an exam tonight with a lecture immediately following....definitely not looking forward to it. A previous professor of mine who I met with once a week would do lectures BEFORE exams and I liked that format much more.

That would drive me nuts. I'd be worried about forgetting important stuff while trying to learn from the lecture.
