Grand Canyon RN-BSN

Is there any updated information? I have been in heavy contact with them and am looking at taking their RN-BSN program. I work with a GCU grad and she has nothing but positive things to say, but I want more opinions. ?

Any pro's and cons? Thankfully the only class I'm missing is stats and that is offered in the actual BSN program. I'm a bit nervous as my algebra skills are way old. If anyone took this class, do you have any advice?

Wait a min!!!! Flames do you start Capstone April 6th??????? My advisor told me the same thing about the instructors.

Possibly April 6th.....May take a break,lol All depends if i have to head back to Canada..and what prof I get...I'm in no hurry!

Thats when I start. I am so nervous! And it sucks that no instructor name is listed yet. But I am taking it at that time no matter what.

How do you see who teaches what classes? Have you all had any luck requesting specific instructors?

AND, in case you all are curious, after a message to the instructor asking her to grade my paper, she gave me 48%. After a few more back and forth messages re: why that grade (got 200/200 on the paper? Was it because it was late?) she graded me as if it had been turned in on time. SO glad that class is over, and I hope never to have another class with her. I wasn't able to complete the course exit survey (I guess I timed out because I had so much feedback I wanted to share). Now, onto Health Assessment. Instructor seems to be pretty involved, but we do have a TA, and I've heard that can be problematic. I hold out great hope that this experience cannot possibly be worse than my last class.

I have because I have been pretty blunt with my expectations. Stats and Capstone instructors were deal breakers for me to start...Some classes do not open up until the Th or F before class starts. If you do not have a recommendation then get yourself placed into a classroom and check out the announcements etc. Then call late on Thursday through Friday to see if there is a better fit to who you want.

I have said those same words for everyone graduating here since Research. Pretty soon you'll be saying the same words! Such amazing and frightening feelings!

Since I didn't have any body to bounce classes off of, Pandora and I took whomever we were assigned and only asked to be released from one class.

The only deal breakers for us was the same as Winter. Stats and Capstone. We had specific people we wanted.

Capstone is going to be my breaker. I'll wait as long as I need to. I'm going to try for the other 3, but want to get them over with so won't likely wait.

Same here. I have not been a problem to my advisor so I am going to let her know that I will only take specific people and if that can't happen then I will go on break until it does. Seems fair to me, I haven't asked to be pulled from classes at the last minute. Well maybe one, just because I really needed a break and she was really helpful to me. Looking ahead!!!!!
