I believe it is no employers business with what I do after work OFF duty. I have the right to smoke a joint if I want to. I'm a responsible adult MJ smoker and would never come into work stoned. Ever. I don't do any other drugs, drink alcohol, or smoke cigarettes. I do a great job, love my patients, always arrive to work on time, do what I'm supposed to do as a health professional.
Testing positive for a drug does not suggest impairment. I think we can all agree on that fact.
Tip for other MJ smokers:
From what I understand it is better to refuse to take a drug test knowing you will test positive than actually take the test; because your license could be revoked.
Drug testing is a clear violation of our 4th amendment rights.
Am I for drug tests? Absolutely. Pre-employment and poor job performance. Random? No way.
it was on the news last night, that these people from the hometown i grew up in, were charged w/growing pot in their house/yard? (not sure).
anyways, it was on their property...
estimated worth, close to half a million (when the plants reach maturity)
i think there are drug lords from all circles of society.
legalizing mj would take away an awful lot of profits.

something's going on, but i'd bet $100 it doesn't have to do with mj.perhaps using other drugs, drinking?
mj just does not exert stimulatory effects on our brains, bodies.
so to read about this in someone, just goes against everything we know about mj.

I agree 100%
I know a lot of people who smoke several times a day, for many years now, and if anything, MJ mellows them out and makes them more laid back. Sounds like he's battling a more severe addiction.

Imagine the $$$ our government could make by taxing the heck out of it, if it were legal.
We'd be in the black in no time, lol!
legalize and tax pot and then we could pay for the AIG bailout! Ooops I meant AIG "rescue" package.
Seriously though, I think pot should be legal and I don't think it irresponsible or showing poor judgment for a nurse to smoke pot on her/his own time. I think there is an awful lot of getting on one's moral high horse in this thread.
Is human pee any worse than the pig intestines that Heparin is manufactured from?
i just googled it...came across a mj forum that said urine provides nitrogen to the plants, a superior growing source.
that it shouldn't be concentrated urine but diluted.
i feel queasy.
kind of gives the "p" in pot a whole new meaning.

I come from the school of addictive personality v. addictive substance. I used to smoke pot as a teen. I could easily take it or leave it. I never got into trouble. In fact, I got straight A's in school. Maybe I had no problems because I don't have an addictive personality. I also used to smoke cigarettes. When I decided to quit, I just put them down cold turkey.
I don't smoke pot now because it is illegal and I've grown up. However, I do think it should be legalized. It was the only thing that ever worked for my migraines. I just live with them now.
