It shouldn't be a big deal. I have a lot of blonde highlights in my hair and no one cares. Most policies are just that it be of a natural color (not blue, green, pink, etc). Blonde highlights are fine.
We were actually allowed to have pink extension clip in things during breast cancer awareness month because we're an onc floor and one of our nurses has breast cancer.
I just accepted a job as a GPN. And I had just (the day before the interview) had a lot of blonde and golden highlights added to my dark hair (its not jet black dark..or even dark brown dark. My hair is a caramel color naturally)
Obviously, this facility doesn't mind highlights or hip hair styles since the DON and the staff development nurse both had highlighted hair. One had the "plainer" cut but the other had an awesome cut (spikey, on the short side)..I loved it and commented to her what a great cut and color she had. (maybe thats why I landed the job :chuckle)
most of my hair fell out, hope thats ok.....
I say thats fine Michael. One of the top "hair styles" for men these days is bald :loveya:
Most of the actors/sports personalities I find very attractive are bald
My hubby says if his hair ever starts falling out (which is doubtful since his moms dad had a headful of hair up until the day he died) he will shave it bald. Umm, yeah, bald won't be a good luck for him, he's got a head the size of a bowling ball (he knows it LOL) and it will only look bigger with no hair

Hi. I am considering getting my brown hair highlighted with a lot of blonde streaks. My hair will probably turn out mostly light blonde. I have always wanted to go blonde, but I am not sure if we as nurses can have 'hip' hairstyles if you know what I mean. I once read that nurses are to keep a conservative look with basic hair color. I will be graduating before too long and don't want blonde highlighted hair to keep me from getting a job. :anbd: What do you as nurses think of highlighted hair? :rcgtku:
