New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

World Registration

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

LOL most of us who received the CON letter are confused :D

just for everyone's understanding, the boxes that are not ticked are the docs that are needed to be submitted to them. no need to send them certified copies of your police clearance, application form, or any of those required docs. original scanned docs will do.

hope we can all make it to the January intake!

Hi rajotolentino!

I am also hoping to get into CON's January intake. I'm a bit lost on how to make the payment. May I ask how you paid them? I'm thinking of telegraphic transfer but I don't know how to do it.

I'm looking at the application letter for CON, specifically at the Program fee payment method portion. So we're supposed to pay already the tuition even if we are not yet given an offer letter? Or can I just leave this portion blank. I just find it weird and kinda risky... To those who have applied at CON, please share me your thoughts.

thanks for responding my queries. I've read the first few pages of this blog, but still there are questions hanging unto my mind.

I've visited the AHPRA site and found these:

1. Which application form should I fill up? the AGOS-04 or the ASGR-40?

2. Where should I submit this, with the specified documents? By e-mail or post-mail?

3. Where should I pay?

4. Is it required to have a migration agent that could arrange these for me? Though it's very costly. and if not, should i process this by myself?

sorry but I'm not so sure how to get an eligibility letter from AHPRA...

though I have ideas how to apply for student visa and the stuff, just the AHPRA thing which I need most of the assistance....:(

i've read pages that they got letter from AHPRA for approval for BP and that and so, but I don't know what are the first few steps to do those.

I hope somebody here can lend patience and may able to help, than reading all over again the pages here....

Fill in the form, oblige with the documents required,....you need to be assessed.....your school, your transcipts and if they deem you as qualified as a nurse educated in Australia they will send you a letter saying you need to do a bridging course.

btw you also need IELTS in 7 in one sitting all round. These you need to work on first. You also are applying to be a general nurse educated overseas. do not use the non practising unless you have not practised for 5 years.

ps as a professional nurse, you will be expected to research things by yourself, especially the simple things, like can you do this yourself? no one can answer this but you. This thread has it all.

Hope this will give light to your questions.:)

1. You can fill up the newest form which is the AGOS-40, the difference from AGOS 04 is more on the English Language skills.

2. You can submit it any territories/state in Australia such Victoria, NSW, and WA. For now, most applicants lodged their dox in WA since its way faster than other place, but since there are more applicants now, possible its getting slower unlike before.

3.once you check tha application form, there is an instruction for your payment.

4.required? NO. Most applicants here in this forum prepaired and lodged their application successfully by themselves. All you need is to read the AHPRA website, skim from page 1 on this forum and you can also ask questions here.

All you need to do now is to have first an IELTS with 7 in all areas, prepare all the requirements (check the AHPRA site so you will know), make your CV under the AHPRA standard format, and read the application form since it will guide you too..

Good luck:D
