Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

hello! for those who have already applied for visa. Are scanned documents acceptable and considered original documents? Say I get a letter of support from a relative abroad, can he just scan and send thru email and I print here to send to the embassy?
Thanks! please reply asap! God bless us all!
To those who applied to CON how long did it take you to receive a response from the time you have submitted your application? :) Thanks!
i applied sept 16. they responded through email immediately. i received a letter by post asking for the lacking docs by oct 5 i think. so do the math but it's not yet an offer letter.
what if you tested positive for the tst?
If you tested positive then you will have to defer your application since you have to go through the six months treatment. Take the TST again then once negative then you can proceed with your application. That's what the doctor told me and have been the case of some of her clients wishing to go out. But you wouldn't test positive if you haven't been in close prolonged contact with a TB patient. Don't worry too much about it, I suggest you go ahead and have your TST done so you won't be worrying about it anymore. Wishing you all the best.

Can any pulmonologist do the tst? or does CON have accredited centers for this?
