New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

World Registration

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

You have to send it via mail. If you want your doc to be received by AHPRA quickly, you have to pay huge amount. They aren't accepting docs as attachment to emails..

yippeeee! i just got my letter of offer from la trobe for their may 2012 intake !:yeah::yeah::yeah:

it says that the application charge is AUD350..how much time would they process such application?

@fy55,

I got also email from la trobe that the next available intake would be in may 2012. can u share what steps u'd done prior to get enrollment in la trobe?

If you tested positive then you will have to defer your application since you have to go through the six months treatment. Take the TST again then once negative then you can proceed with your application. That's what the doctor told me and have been the case of some of her clients wishing to go out. But you wouldn't test positive if you haven't been in close prolonged contact with a TB patient. Don't worry too much about it, I suggest you go ahead and have your TST done so you won't be worrying about it anymore. Wishing you all the best.

TST is not the definitive test for PTB, chest X-ray is. I tested positive for mantoux as well but I didn't have to defer any application. Most of us will test positive for mantoux because we had BCG before. As long as the chest x-ray is negative, then it is fine.

you really need to back read from page 1. Before applying for enrollment in La Trobe, you need to get an eligibility letter from AHPRA. To do this, you need to prepare certain papers that you have to submit (these have been discussed earlier in this thread). You can read all of the requirements and the necessary steps at the AHPRA website. If you really want to succeed in applying as a registered nurse in Australia, it is important for you to do your own research.

hi everyone. I just want to ask if La Trobe will accept applicants who are newly resigned from their hospital employment?

Hi guys! is mantoux test included in the medical exam for visa app? i got a positive result when i did a test in our hospital, would this affect my visa app?

to anyone here who were accepted into BP, how did you pay your tuition fee? $10k is way too big. was it bank to bank transfer, or what? are there any assurances that the university received the payment on time?...
