Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

I just got my offer letter from La Trobe for the May 2012 intake. What should I do next? They told me that I should send the following to La Trobe International:1. completed and signed offer acceptance form
2. payment for the required deposit as set out in your letter of offer
3. a copy of your pre-visa assessment (PVA) where applicable
I researched regarding student visas. So the visa that I need to apply for is the Non-Award Sector: Temporary Visa (Subclass 575) - Assessment Level 1. So since it's Assessment Level 1, I don't need the pre-visa assessment. And I just have to pay the required deposit right away?
To anyone who applied for the student visa, please tell me if I got the info right. Because I plan to pay the tuition this week...
To anyone who got in to La Trobe and are for the January intake, I'm asking for some assistance on what steps I should take. How long does the student visa 575 allow me to stay in australia? This was written in my offer letter. This amount was added to the tuition fee
Visa Length OSHC - Single 4 months $140.00
So if I avail of the 4 months OSHC, then my visa would probably allow me to stay for just 4 months? So should I get a longer OSHC coverage, like for 6 months perhaps?
I have just been researching for the last couple of hours since I got my offer letter. Now I'm just plain confused
Please help
:(
Oh so I can just ask IDP for assistance. I think I will do that too.I've read somewhere (immi website i think) that the allowed length of stay in australia for student visas is dependent on the OSHC. I'll try to look for that info...
If that will be the case, how would we tell ltu to give us longer oshc cover? If we can have 6 months stay, that would be blessing. I am with idp makati.
Health and Character Documents (checklist):
Evidence that you have OSHC for the duration of your visa. Your visa expiry date will be determined by the expiry date of your OSHC.
hey everyone...been lurking in this thread for months...i should day that all of the people here are very helpful every time they share their insights, opinion and experiences....thanxx...anyway, sent my AHPRA eligibility letter last Aug.08, still waiting for it...posted in AHPRA-WA...anyone on the same boat?? Hope there are available BP slots for us early next year.
GOD bless us all in our OZ dream...;-)
Thanks! :) I just made my transaction today. May I ask if they sent you an offer letter already? :)
They won't, instead they will send you a visa support letter for you to be able to apply for a visa. We have to complete all the requirements by dec.16 for them to put forward our application for the january intake.

Thanks for clarifying the matter. :) I really hope we can all get into their January intake.

the way i understand your post, for as long as we complete our requirements before december 16, then we will be included in next year's earliest intake?
