New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Part 1 thread New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand - Nursing for Nurses

the way i understand your post, for as long as we complete our requirements before december 16, then we will be included in next year's earliest intake?

in regard to the immunization requirement, im still working on it

That is according to Ms. XXXX when I called her last week... :p

i have a question. is ihna still accredited with ahpra? i do not see their name on the list of accredited bp providers...

yeah, ihna is still an accredited bp provider. i asked one of the agents in ahpra via email.

chilbrat,

when you sent your receipt of telegraphic transfer, have you received any confirmatory message?

i sent mine two days ago but i still havent received any message from the CON regarding this matter.

Yup. After 3 working days, they replied with the visa support letter. They will have to wait for the payment to be posted before they will send you the letter. :p When and where are you planning to lodge your application?

ETEA females/males - White button downed shirt, black pants and closed black leather shoes (not ballet shoes, not with heels)

Thanks phil-rn... God Bless you.

hello.. just wanted to ask if u will take ur medicals first before lodging ur visa? I havent paid the course fee yet, im still working on my immunization. I have done my Hep B screening and titer, would it be enough as evidence or i still have to give them a vacination record for Hep b? the problem is I dont have any record at all, I have my booster done last 2009 but i havent kept any record. I dont know what to do.. can a HBsAG and Anti Hbs lab result would be enough or i have to take another booster shot even if my absorbance is more than 10.0?

thanks!!!

so upon receipt of our telegraphic transfer, which may take 3-4 working days according to BDO, the CON will send us the visa support letter? just to clarify, have you sent the scanned copy of your receipt to jane?

as soon as im done with my immunization requirement, lodgement of visa is my next action

we are not applying for a student visa. so there is no medicals for us.

Goodluck with this idea, you will be nursing people in health facilities,

Student visa business or tourist, if you are nursing people, health checks are mandatory.

Newbie here. Been reading this thread in months now. But i have a question to ask since i can't find someone similar with my case. I am a Phil-RN and had a few months experience as nurse around 2 years ago. But currently i'm only working as a healthcare assistant here in the UK, and at the same time, i finished a nursing degree (BsC Int'l Nsg), unfortunately this still did not qualify me for registration as a nurse here. So there, i want to ask now if i'm going to apply for registration in AHPRA, do you think i should include this in my CV, my work experience as HCA and so with the degree i earned here in UK?..:)

TIA forumers..

Health and Character Documents (checklist):

Evidence that you have OSHC for the duration of your visa. Your visa expiry date will be determined by the expiry date of your OSHC.

http://www.immi.gov.au/students/checklists/visa_575_1.pdf

Here's the reoply of idp when i asked them about the relationship of oshc and length of stay in australia:

Your original OSHC length is the minimum required for your visa application. It can only extend up to the validity of your student (i.e. 1 month after course end date). If you will travel to Australia earlier and wish to obtain OSHC, you may request the provider to change the effective date of your OSHC earlier. You can do this upon arrival in Australia. Additional fee can also be paid there.

I followed the link you posted and from what i have read, i think the longest time that the embassy can grant us visa is a month after the program. The length of stay should be covered by oshc then. So it is not possible, ithink to stay in oz 2 months or more after bp. Point two, we can go earlier to oz, but must sendrequest to provider and then extend the oshc cover until a month after bp (which i think is pointless since we really dont have business there not until bp commenced). Crucial will be the time between after bp and bisa expiry. :uhoh3:

hi, i've read that the approval expiry date for ihna is december 1, 2010. 2010??

If you are still a registered nurse in the Philippines, you can still apply for registration here in Australia. Your experience as an HCA does not count towards your experience as an RN. You can include that on your CV though (you can find the pattern of CV that they want you to use)

How long was the nursing degree (BsC Intl Nsg) for?
