Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

im here in cebu right now and wont be back in manila until december.
so i just want to ask how am i going to apply for a tourist or business visa and where can i have my medicals here?
medical exam can be done prior to visa application right? or a referral letter is needed from the embassy before doing so?
one more thing, how much is the boostrix/adacel vaccination?
chilbrat, is there any immunization card that we need to download online?or the checklist together with the evdience will do?
im really confuse with this immunization requirement
Hi there! Is this for CON (NSW) I have come across this website and I will be using this one as my guide too.
It has a checklist on the last 2-3 pages.
Good luck! :-)

@rajotolentino
I asked a friend who lives near CON Burwood regarding flat rates. He told me he spent 150 $ per week on a single room apartment.
There is a list of panel doctors accredited by Australian embassy to do medical check-up in the Philippines. There are two accredited clinic in Cebu.

I paid 1,500 php peso for Tdap vaccine (adacel). Boostrix is cheaper, the doctor where I got my immunizations priced it at 1,200. I was not able to avail the latter because it was out of stock.
:)
If you are still a registered nurse in the Philippines, you can still apply for registration here in Australia. Your experience as an HCA does not count towards your experience as an RN. You can include that on your CV though (you can find the pattern of CV that they want you to use)How long was the nursing degree (BsC Intl Nsg) for?
Yep, i understand that, anyway it was meant to be 2 years in order to get an honour degree, but i exit the course early because of some changes with the UKBA so i did not finish the last semester, that ended me with only a degree and not the honours award..i took the ielts as well but had only got 6.5 in writing..so have to retake again..
thanks for the reply, much appreciated..:)
Hi Rajtolentino,
you can apply either tourist or business visa thry the via center in cebu. It is in Keppel Building, near ayala (north part of ayala beside LExmark Building).
You can have your medicals either Cebu Doctors University Hospital (near Capitol Building) or Nationwide Clinic which is at the back of Cebu Doctors Univ Hosp (Boromeo Street), they both are authorized centers for our medicals in Aussie visa application. Goodluck and Godbless!

do u think it's better to have our medicals first even before we lodge a visa? will they accept it even there's no request from the embassy to do it?
thanks
just got my COE from La Trobe
Does anyone know of accommodations near La Trobe Bendigo which accepts students enrolled in BP? I was hoping to be able to get accommodations on-campus but then I found out that they are only for students enrolled for at lease one semester. They are not for BP students. Tsktsktsk...
My other option is to stay with my friend who lives in Deer Park Victoria. It would take me around 2 hours just to get to La Trobe Bendigo. That's pretty far and the train fare is not exactly cheap.
If you know any accommodations near La Trobe Bendigo, please pm me. Or if you are also for the May 2012 intake, then maybe we can be roommates
