New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Not yet. I'm still confused how to lodge my visa application. Can we lodge online application for a 456 visa? There are no VIA centers from where I live.

which is faster do do our medicals? Cebu Doctors University Hospital or Nationwide Clinic.

do we have to make appointments or just go in our own convenience? what time of the day to you recommend?

do you have any idea where i can do the serology of both varicella and mmr? how much do these lab exams cost?

where can i have my boostrix/adacel vaccination? can you refer any MD? the cheaper the better

thanks guys!

I just did my medicals yesterday (Friday) at Nationwide Health Systems. I arrived there at around 10am. I finished the X-ray, UA and PA at 12noon and went back by 1:30 for the lab test and I was done. I called their office 2 days ahead to ask about requirements and they confirmed my name in their list (since I applied online visa) and texted me the requirements. It was pretty fast. Just make sure to get there early so you can finished everything in the morning. By the way, I paid 1,300php. :D

they will send it by email and post. :)

i think we really have to go to aussie embassy or just send it by post: you can download the form from the website, check this out in diac: http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/business/456/how-to-apply.htm#e

how to lodge

you can lodge the signed and completed visa application form and supporting documents by post or in person at the nearest departmental office outside australia.

maybe i should wait for my visa letter first before doing the medicals. im really confused if we really need to do appointment first for the medicals.

Nope, I applied for student visa since LTU's a CRICOS registered school and the BP will run for 13 weeks. I was asked for the referral letter which indicates the tests I have to do like HIV test, Hep A and C tests, UA, X-ray when I arrived at the clinic so I guess you have to lodge first. With regards to OSHC, it was automatically included in the offer letter with tuition fee so I paid it together with the tuition. :)
