New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

World Registration

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Part 1 thread New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand - Nursing for Nurses

Hello how much show money do I need for a 456 visa? Thank you and kind regards.

I applied in AHPRA Victoria, can I take the assessment of competence program in CON or do I really have to take an IRON program in Victoria? Thank you.

Hi everyone!

I'm a registered nurse in the Philippines. I want to enroll for a bridging program in Australia. I'd known about Initial Registration for Overseas Nurses. But then, it's part of the requirements to have a letter first from AHPRA or from NMBA stating the eligibility to enroll for the course. But I don't know how to get a letter from AHPRA, though i searched on the AHPRA site and even in IMMI. Though I e-mailed AHPRA thru their enquiry forms but none replied.

These are the admission requirements in UNIVERSITY OF BALLARAT:

The application form must be submitted together with:

1. The letter from the NBV OR NMBA stating their eligibility to undertake the course

2. IELTS examination (academic module) with a minimum score of 7 in each of the four components (listening, reading, writing and speaking); or completion and an overall pass in the OET with grades A or B only in each of the four components. Results must be obtained in one sitting of assessment and within two years prior to applying for registration.

3. Passport copy

4. Immunisation history

5. Police check

6. Nursing course transcript of records (certified copy)

7. Certified copy of nursing testamur

8. Updated CV

9. Certified copy of work certificates

10. 2 passport-sized photographs

Initial Registration for Overseas Qualified Nurses (IRON) AUD 10,000

Has anybody know how to get a letter from AHPRA/NMBA?? and what do I need to do first? because I'm confused on how to process or lodge any application. Anybody here who can give advice? what university is best for IRON? (la trobe univ, univ. of ballarat, deakin univ, ETEA??) please do e-mail me please...

please let me know..btw, i'm a novice with these :( and a new member here. :))

Specializes in ER.
i was also confused on the letter sent to me by con and asked them clarification, this was their reply to me.

please be advised that the documents that we have on file are the ones that have the ticked boxes. you are required to submit all documents that are not ticked. therefore you need to provide us with evidence of immunisation, full fee of $10,000 and visa. upon receipt of evidence of immunisation and fee, the college will issue you with a visa support letter. when your visa is granted, please scanned and forward it to reach us 3 weeks prior to the commencement of the program which is expected to commence on 30 jan 2012. only applicants who have the complete documentation will be selected for the program.

:)

I think it should be valid at the time they receive your documentations but to be safe I suggest you clarify this matter with them. :D

Hi,kenoboi.

I suggest you read the first page of this thread posted by cioman94 for the overview of nursing registration process. It'll give you a clearer view of how to get your letter of eligibility before you can apply for IRON program in any course provider.

Good luck! :)

your questions have been asked so many times before.

see the search box? use it :smokin:

lol most of us who received the con letter are confused :D

just for everyone's understanding, the boxes that are not ticked are the docs that are needed to be submitted to them. no need to send them certified copies of your police clearance, application form, or any of those required docs. original scanned docs will do.

hope we can all make it to the january intake!
