New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Part 1 thread New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand - Nursing for Nurses

Hi 14162S001! Regarding the assurance, you can only get that once you have complete documents by Dec.16, that's what the coordinator told me when I gave them a ring. You have to pay the full course fee and once the payment has been posted they will give you a visa support letter for you to be able to apply for a visa, you also have to comply with the immunization thingy before the census date for you to be really become part of the January intake. I made my own timetable, I already paid the fee and now waiting for the payment to get through so I can go ahead and request for the visa support letter while I'm also completing the vaccinations needed. God willing, I'll be able to comply with everything before the due date. Hope I was able to help you.

Hi there! Thank you so much for giving me a ray of hope to get a slot in CON. May I know how you paid the fee?

Both are not listed under Nursing Program of Study Providers that you can find in this link: http://www.nursingmidwiferyboard.gov.au/Accreditation.aspx

What about those who took the BP at AAON? This sounds bad... What would happen if we take a bridging program not accredited by AHPRA?:uhoh3:

This sounds dodgy. Before an employer here in Australia can hire a non-resident ie apply for a work visa, they should satisfy the Immigration requirement which is they should have posted on the local paper and such, and if there are no suitable applicants only then are they allowed to hire non-Aussies. In short they have to justify their hiring. The trouble with your post is that they are wiling to sponsor immediately after your BP? I would think twice about this. The BP course should cost roughly P400,000 or $10,000 a bit more in some areas. The current exchange rate is $1=P40, conservative estimate. I use http://www.forexworld.com.au to send remittance to the Phils. You can check their exchange rate there. (free advertising, sorry) - I don't work for them or gain benefit from putting their site here. Just for reference. $30000 for a BP course is just way too much.

I would also like to know which education institution is also part of the scheme, as the places in bridging courses are now going to be hard to get due to demand in the time to comply....if an organisation is going to pay and have an employer lined up, they would need a BP school lined up to provide places....anyone know which school it is?

People who hold people to ransom (property, assets) playing on peoples desperation should be shut down in this country and over there, this is not within fair trading and should be stopped when it comes to nurses.

I asked my classmates about some info but they according to them, the said agency/firm or whatever you call them did not mention the name of the school. That is why I am also wondering. I want to attend their seminar but now I am losing interest because it seems like the interest would reach 400,000 to 500,000 PHP. Well this is if my computation is right.

true! that is why i have thought of asking your opinion guys.. these predators should really be shut up as it seems that they are taking advantage of our keen interest of taking bp in oz.. so we all should be really careful.. as for the name of the school, they didn't mention what specific school it is, but i have a hunch.. will just send you pm if necessarry., what they're asking is way too much right? i started to lose hope then til i stumbled upon this blog, and knew how to do all the applications by myself..

the agency said, they have ready employers who will sponsor the applicant even before the bp course have commenced. so, the applicant should sign up for a loan of 1.2M for the bp as his/her career in oz is already guaranteed. smells something fishy right?.. anyways, let's just warn other applicants who might fall prey into these money-milking-schemes.. let's all be careful.. :)

good morning evryone! i just wanna ask, can i lodge my documents to ahpra even before passing my ielts exam? are they going to assess my docs even without my ielts results? i am scheduled to retake my ielts this november.. so i'm wondering if i could submit my docs to ahpra in advance and then submitting my ielts and prc cert of goodstaning thereafter..

have a blessed Sunday guys!.. :)

@yogheart24 I think you must take the ielts exam first...submit your docs before your ielts exam expires and retake it

About SCC, I remembered during our time they mentioned ACFE.. they also told us that the school? is a filipino owned so they will help us in our careers. The visa they are offering for bp is occupational visa then after 3 months they will give you 457 visa to work..that is what they told us. Also, they are telling that they have connections with a DFA spokesman? i recently watch him on T.V. Can i mention the name? lol.. one agent there in SCC is the brother of the mentioned spokesman and im not sure if that is true.. same surname and I cant find any clues for their relation.
