2020 Nurse Corps Loan Repayment Program

Nurses New Nurse

Published

Hey people! I've been interested in the HRSA Nurse Corps Loan repayment program for several years, just never took the time to apply. I am full-time nurse faculty in an BSN program. For those who have applied before:

1. When does the cycle usually open? ( I have signed up for updates)

2. How do you calculate your DTI? (This is all new to me?)

Thanks for your responses. Hopefully we can kick some student loan debt in the butt!! I'm excited and haven't even applied yet! Blessings to you all!

My alert was from credit karma too for Credco (that’s the monitoring service I use.) Also in the comment of the inquiry it says HRSA nslrp. I’m hoping my credit is good enough. Fingers crossed.

Does anyone know how long it takes to find out if you receive a COI after the credit check?

In reading past threads here, it seems that most COI emails come out mid-late July through August with sporadic ones in September. But who knows with Covid.

I haven't received credit check yet but great news to those who have!! From reading past posts, this is a good indicator of selection.

Keep the updates coming and let's be encouraging to ALL who have applied. We sure to need it, especially during these times! ?

Also received a credit check last week! Do we know if people with credit checks are more likely to receive it? Or do they just credit check everyone?

From previous years' threads here and reading the application guide,

A credit check is required before being accepted into the program.

Not everyone who receives a credit check will be accepted into the program.

No guarantees from getting a credit check. Fingerscrossed for us all!

In the past, A credit check is required to receive the repayment but not everyone receives a credit check. If you receive a credit check, you have a chance of being accepted. If you do not receive one then you will not be chosen. If that makes sense! ?

Good luck to everyone! I know it is such a nerve racking time for all!

What credit monitoring are you all using to see if you have a credit check?

Credit Karma has always been the one to tell me my credit has been pulled
