Nude nurse goes nutty

Nurses General Nursing

I'm usually not one to put something in like this but I just saw this headline in USA Today as I was settling down for the night.

Not too many details - not too many clothes either...

If we're being honest...don't we all have days where we wish we could do something like this? And have it be totally legal :) ?

I read the article. Just underneath was another article:

[h=2]Nearly nude man shot with stun gun at Florida airport.[/h]

Too bad they didn't just arrange a meeting with the two...problem solved.

In all seriousness probably both are due to a designer drug called flakka.

Look it up:

New drug called flakka blamed for increase in naked, paranoid people.

He ran through the neighborhood naked and tried to have sex with a tree and thought he was the mythical god Thor!

The comments underneath the article are hilarious.

How scary for the poor patient!

It does remind me of the horrible attack of a homeless man by someone they felt had taken bath salts.

So if postal workers go "postal" what term will be coined for nurses who lose it?

Nursal....or medical?

Why is it always Florida?

It isn't :p

Curious to know if this was actually a licensed nurse or perhaps a home health aide...

Specializes in Peds/outpatient FP,derm,allergy/private duty.

When I first started working in private duty (which I suspect this is) I was amazed that the company that hired me never had me meet with the DON (or anyone other than sales staff), there was no drug testing, and they sent people out with little to no orientation or training. There was no way to screen out problems like this, and no co-workers or onsite managers to observe it and intervene.

It seems they have tightened things up in the last 11 years, at least I hope so.

I don't know why zombie bath salts stories so often come from Florida, but I know the man that attacked the poor guy along the MacArthur Causeway and gnawed his face off was not high on Bath Salts according to the ME.

Obviously, they have 'RN amok'.

Or perhaps it is a 'Nurse case scenario'.
