That's why I don't miss ER. Stupid people just got on my nerves way too much!!! Had no patience for them.

I got floated to ER during the SARS crisis. Had a couple bring in their 7 day old baby because "she hadn't pooped in 12 hours".

Had a mother bring in her 16 y/o daughter at 0200 Saturday. The kid had a stomach ache on Thursday and mom wanted us to tell her what caused it. When asked why she didn't come in on Thursday when the stomach hurt was told that she couldn't leave work then to come see us. Doctor said we can't help you now, come back the next time it hurts.

I love stupid people tricks, when they start to bother me I will have to change depts.

I have seen a person come in with a boil and the Doc asked how long they have had it and the person answered "3 weeks". This person came in at 10 pm on a Friday night!!!

OK, my fellow ER nurses........

and what is the answer to the million dollar question..."What made it an emergency now?"....................

"Because I just can't take it ANY more!!"

OK, I must share this one.

The student nurses association at a local college held a "haunted house" for a fund raiser over Halloween weekend.

Some of our ED nurses helped them out.(decorating,playing "ghosts",etc.)

Two days later, I am at triage.

Young man comes in to be seen, his c/o,"You people had that haunted house, and I went to it TWO days ago, and I have been nervous and upset ever since!"

I said ,"Sir, exactly what is it that you want us to do?"

He said,"I don't know, but it's all YOUR fault that I am like this!"
