um i dont know what happened, but someone else edited teh title of my thread! this was not the original title i had. thats weird. weird weird weird. and a little offputting.
anyhoo, they have some good nursing themed shows on their, too. one of their "residents" shows was extensively talking about ER Nurses, and had one who was specifically talking about being her patient's advocate.
an episode of "diagnosis:unknown" about a CNA who was killing patients (and these are true stories, btw) at a rehab hospital/long term care hospital focused almost specifically on the nurses and how they responded, how they were angry, how they were trying to figure out what happened, etc. and at the end even mentioned how the hard work of the nurses helped save more patients from this guy.

This from the same network that brought us "the Residents", "Resident Life" "Maternity Ward" and " A Baby Story". High time someone recognized nurses ARE part ot the health care system people yearn to learn more about.
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm hopefully it will be a truthful and realistic profile of nursing in general. I am not impressed with the other reality shows they have produced thus far. Thanks for the info, I will check it out.
I taped it while watching it.
I work in a cardiothoracic surgery ICU. When I saw the first patient was in a CTICU, I thought woo hoo here we go! Turned out that it was an BKA due to PVD. I would have liked to know more...like how did that wound develop? I know he had an MI. Did he have a CABG and the incision where the graft vein was taken become infected? Why was he (still?) in the ICU? DVT? Sepsis? MRSA? Boo hoo, I wanted them to show a fresh post-op, maybe with a little bit of bleeding or bp issues or maybe stay with the pt till extubation (I guess they would need way more than an hour-long show!)
Megan the new grad rocked!! (I thought this was the best part, especially when the doc invited her to take a look through the endoscope)
I couldn't understand something ...is it the norm around the country that an RN assignment in the neonatal ICU usually consist of three critically ill babies?? That's waaaay too much.
I want to watch it again before I give my opinion on the reality of it (I had lots of interruptions, it was dinner time), but overall it was pretty good! Thank goodness!
