i saw a clip for this on the discovery health channel, a series about nursing care, and the importance of nursing, etc. and follows nurses in different hospitals/units.

I saw the episode on surgical nursing, and now I'm absolutely intrigued w/ the OR. I'm really looking forward to my clinical rotation in the OR next year!!!

Only able to catch the OR episode. Really showed that the patient is in the hospital for NURSING CARE. The RN's expressed well how their assessment of patient, interventions and calling doctors re subtle changes affected patient outcomes.
I am very disappointed that I did not get to see these shows(dont get the channel). I too would like to see some sort of a series maybe following nurses in several different areas of nursing. Would also be nice if it were on a channel more acce.ssible to more of the population. I also think seeing the credintials would be nice. I only have LPN right now but am working very hard to get ADN and then bridging ADN to MSN. I am all for nurses getting credit for their credentials.

actually, i remember onthe second of the 3 episodes, they showed a new grad from a BSN program (they mentioned BSN) and at least one or two other nurses they specifically said "bsn". thing is, if they have an ADN degree, we dont call them Jane Doe, RN, ADN like we would say Jane Doe, RN, BSN. so maybe they aren't showing the nurses credentials. or maybe the nurse doesn't have a BSN. can't really tell.
