New Mexico Licensure Question

Published

Hi everyone. Does anyone know how one should go about applying for the State board in New Mexico? After the school sends the official transcript and after completing the fingerprinting requirements, how long will it take before one could be given an ATT? Thanks and have a nice day!

i am from the philippines and i have a question. what if i already passed my nclex-rn exam in new mexico, how will they give me my license? will they mail it to me? another is, just in case i'd be working in California with a new mexico license, will the California BON accept an endorsement of my license without an SSN?? replies anyone please.. thanks..

You cannot work in CA with a license from another state. You must go thru the process of getting a license to practice as an RN in the state where you are going to be working. NM will mail you your license, you need a license number to be able to endorse to any state. CA will issue you a temporary license until you can give them a SSN#, but the temporary is only good for 180 days.

Once you have received an actual license, then use the License by Endorsement procedure to start the process for CA. Suggest that you start that as soon as you can. You will still need to have your school submit your transcripts to CA, they need to have those before they will issue you a permanent license, even if you have a SN#. No permanent license without completed transcripts being submitted.

1. Application form - Fill up

2. Go to US Embassy in Manila and asked the guards for the Fingerprint Cards for New Mexico Board Of Nursing Licensure for Nurses

3. Go to NBI Carriedo to be Fingerprinted

What should be written on the CHECKS / DOLLAR DEMAND DRAFT to be mailed with the application forms.

payable $160.00 USD

"NM BON"

"New Mexico BON"

"New Mexico Board of Nursing"

$ 31.00 USD money order made payable to the NM Dept. of Public Safety

"NM DPS"

"New Mexico DPS"

"New Mexico Department of Public Safety"

I just want to know what they would type or write in the 2 checks.

NM Board of Nursing

and complete for the DPS one as well.

Always better to be complete on a check. And if there is room to spell out the state, even better to do that.

Less chance of it going to wrong hands.

thanks guys..:-)

you can endorse your license without having to work in that state but may have issues if you do not have a SSN (which you can't get until you are in the US with a valid work permit) I suggest having a good read in the International forum as I am sure you will find many answers

I would suggest that you do not use abbreviations since the NM fingerprint card did not provide any codes for that, unlike the CA fingerprint card.

race-asian

hgt- in feet/inches

wgt - in lbs

eyes- the color of your eyes

hair -the color of your hair.
