Hi everyone. Does anyone know how one should go about applying for the State board in New Mexico? After the school sends the official transcript and after completing the fingerprinting requirements, how long will it take before one could be given an ATT? Thanks and have a nice day!
Just updating this thread for the latest in NM BON requirements for foreign grad nurses.
Requirements for Graduates from NON-US Programs
State and Criminal Background Check Instructions
*Note: NM BON does their own evaluation and does not require any CGFNS service. However, as stated on their application packet, they will accept CGFNS Certifications in lieu of their own Boards evaluation if you already have one and that the applicant can send a photocopy of the CGFNS Certification herself provided that it is notarized. CGFNS Certification is not a requirement. It is accepted in lieu of their own evaluation if the nurse has one already.
lawrence, that was really helpful!!I wasn't aware of the fingerprinting instructions, so all i have to do is print it and have it done at US embassy and in NBI??
tnx a lot!!
Yes, just download and print everything pertinent to you. You can get the FBI cards in the US embassy as well and that form will serve as your proof on why you need the cards. Just follow all instructions printed. Have all notarizations done in the US embassy while you're at it. Instructions for having the fingerprinting process done in NBI can be found in the Phil. forum (www.allnurses.com/forums/f235).
Make sure you have enough money as notary public done in the embassy is a lot expensive than the local ones. Just have look at the embassy's website to search for the fees: http://manila.usembassy.gov/
also, as ianjel adviced make sure that you read the previous posts to know the experiences of the other members here and what they did and if you have further clarifications, you can e-mail the appropriate personnels whose e-mails are posted on the instruction forms for graduates of non-us programs.

Hi lawrence. Is it OK if I have my documents notarized at the city hall? I was at the US embassy last week for the FP cards. I also asked for the notarization fee, and it cost 30.00$ / document(1,350 pesos) compared to City Hall, it will only cost you 100 pesos per document. Thanks for your advise.

Honestly, many have tried that and it was accepted but I can't personally guarantee that it will be the same for everyone.
If that's per document and not per page, $30 is very reasonable even just for the assurance factor. It's your call.
If it is not done at the US Embassy, then there is no guarantee that it will be accepted.
If the form requires the notary, and not all do, the fee is per signature that is made to it. There is never more than one signature that needs to be notarized per application.
The $30 fee is for each notarized signature that is required. Most do not require a notary.
Hi everyone, I have a concern regarding TOR for second coursers. The credited subjects from my old college has a different grading system from the school I attended for BSN. Although my BSN transcript has with it the subjects from my old school, there is no attachment or explanation of the difference in grading systems. will the NM BON accept just my transcript from where I graduated to obtain my BSN despite the difference in grading system?
