New Mexico Licensure Question

Published

Hi everyone. Does anyone know how one should go about applying for the State board in New Mexico? After the school sends the official transcript and after completing the fingerprinting requirements, how long will it take before one could be given an ATT? Thanks and have a nice day!

with regards to the fees on notarizations at US embassy, payment should be in dollars or peso??

tnx!!

Payment is normally in US dollars.

Hi everyone, I have a concern regarding TOR for second coursers. The credited subjects from my old college has a different grading system from the school I attended for BSN. Although my BSN transcript has with it the subjects from my old school, there is no attachment or explanation of the difference in grading systems. will the NM BON accept just my transcript from where I graduated to obtain my BSN despite the difference in grading system?

It is up to them to make the determination; if you are concerned, have both submitted.

i asked ms vidaurri about the status of my application yesterday she replied this today:

"Have you submitted an application to the board and were they sent in just within the last 2 weeks? If they were submitted recently your transcripts will not be evaluated until matched up with the application."

I still havent submitted my application forms because in their website they said in the NONUSed form:

"Foreign transcripts must be evaluated before submitting exam applications to

the Board and to NCLEX. Upon approval of transcripts an additional fee of

$50.00 is required along with exam application fee to New Mexico Board of

Nursing."

but ms vidaurri's email is quite clear. TRANSCRIPT + APPLICATION FORMS + PAYMENT = Evaluation and processing of documents!

darn i wasted 3 weeks waiting. i should've submitted my forms earlier.

anyways hope this help for those who still waiting for their transcript to be evaluated!

Thank you for this post.... It cleared the ambiguity in the form. I'm beginning the process of sending my papers to NM BON. Now, with this post, it has been clarified that one must send the TOR, application form, transcript, P160 application and TOR evaluation + 31 fingerprint for them to begin evaluating you.

Not the entire application packet. Only the AUTHORIZATION FOR RELEASE OF INFORMATION form included in the Fingerprint packet (pdf) that is needed to be notarized. A local notary will suffice.

2) The total amount will be US 191 with the following breakdown

a) US 160 for NM BON

b) US 160 for NM Department of Public Safety

God bless

Thank you Sakuji.... :-)

That has been my point all along: Everything must be sent together. They will not even look at your application until they have everything there. They do not review things one at a time.

If you have a green card it is half the battle. You need to apply to a BON and each have their own requirements and length of time before issuing ATT. I suggest you do a read on here as there are plenty of threads to different BON's and how long their files are processed. When endorsing you still have to follow the BON's requirement for foreign trained nurse. Makes no difference where your RN application is done the requirements are the same and application has to go to the BON address in the US. Do you have a SSN as some states like CA will not issue license without SSN which can delay your endorsment. You do not have to work in the state where you get your RN license.

Processing can take anything from 3 + months and all depends on how orderly they receive documents

I suggest having a good read on here.

Would also be good practice not to write in text, not everyone understands text and very important with documentation that no abreviations unless recognised by the hospital can be used

hi everyone.im also interested in applying for nclex-mexico.i have a question?after youve recieved the att, are you going to have the exam already?or its still for schedulling?does att have an expiration?thanks very much, hoping for your reply

Mexico is a country, it is not a state in the US. New Mexico is the state.

You need to decide where you wish to work, not on who has the fastest time or anything else. Or you can be wasting considerable time in trying to endorse your license to another state.

Suggest that you read the Primer at the top of this forum for information that you need to have before you do a thing. And then do some research as to where you really wish to work. Start with that.

The ATT is sent out by Pearson-Vue, it is not sent out by the BON. You must have paid for the exam as well as have approval from the BON before you will receive it. You cannot schedule a date for the exam until you get the ATT. And all ATTs have expiration dates, they can vary by state, but most are for 90 days only. And if you do not test during that time, then you lose the money that you paid for the exam, as well as the licensing fee that you paid to the state and need to start the process all over again. That is why I am recommending that you do some significant reading before you do a thing.

would also recommend that you start studying for the NLCEX now rather that wait for ATT

Also as Suzanne is always pointing out you are applying for licensure and NCLEX is just part of the process.

Plenty of reading to do on here and many answers you will find

:welcome:
