New Mexico Licensure Question

Published

Hi everyone. Does anyone know how one should go about applying for the State board in New Mexico? After the school sends the official transcript and after completing the fingerprinting requirements, how long will it take before one could be given an ATT? Thanks and have a nice day!

Average wait time to be able to get the ATT after being approved by them to test is about three to four months. You only submitted your application a couple of days ago, doubt that they have even received it as of yet.

Did you actually write the NLE exam? And if so, when ? And do you have passing results if you tested?

i dont write my NLE exam coz i just graduated last may and talk the NLE exam this june but the result will not be released until mid august.do i have to call them and told them that i took the exam and the result is not yet out until mid august?

Next question, how was it mailed? Regular airmail from there, or courier service? If you wanted things to get their quickly, you needed to use courier, or it can be a couple of weeks until it arrives.

the school used DHL and according to the tracking they gave me the bonnm recieved my TOR last august 1. and i mail my application for eligibility through FEDEX and it was recieved by bonnm august 9.

You are going to be hard presed to get the approval before you need to leave Saipan, and even if you get it just before, then you have to try to get a slot to test. You cannot even look at the schedule for it until you have recieved the ATT.

a friend told me that i can go to pearson here directly to get a slot after i will recieve my ATT. and we are hoping that there are slots avilable by that time since nurses arrival in saipan from the phil. will be down due to opening of new pearsonvue center in the phil.

i already register to pearsonvue and pay the $200. incase i will not be able to sit for the exam here in saipan can i have it schedule to the philippines? thank you so much suzanne for the prompt reply. very much appreciated ;)

Plz Help! i send my application forms last august 13 via lbc i also tried tracking it but still it doesn't give any information on wheher the NM board received it already. Also my TOR etc were sent by my school I think last august 15. I also emailed MS. Sabrina @ [email protected] last august 21 but up to now i have not received any reply from her.

Is there anything else I can do to at least confirm whether my APplication forms and TOR were received?

Tnx So Much for Responding to this Inquiry..

i waited for 2 months before the new mexico BON finally charged me for the application fee by credit card (mailed it december 2006, got charged february 2007). so i think you'll have to wait 2 months.

people say that it was faster before, but that was before the pinoys discovered that new mexico processing is faster and the state has reciprocity. i think with the influx if applications NOW from the philippines, it's not as fast as it used to be :o

in a nutshell, wait 2 months, tops. then if you got charged the fee, that's when you follow-up ms. vidaurri if they still haven't sent you the ATT. or better yet, register at pearson vue after you got charged the fee. it's pearson vue who emailed my ATT to me after i registered (and paid $200)

If you are thinking of NCLEX and reciprocity then you are right, the exam is for all states, but if you are thinking that your license is then you are wrong. If you are moving from state to state then you are endorsing and compact licenses have certain requirements you must meet and I believe is mainly aimed at people who live on the borders of states so can live in one but work in the other.

I would wait on pearsonvue until you have definate notice of OK as if there are any delays pearsonvue is only valid for 1 year

Hi everyone... The school just sent my transcript aug 24 via fedex and according to the tracking system of fedex, it was delivered to nm bon last aug 27. i just emailed ms vidaurri to ask for confirmation of receipt of my documents. once i get an answer, ill send my application form and appropriate fees.

i've been reading this thread and have followed the steps, and each new development worries me.

applying to the pearson vue should be done AFTER receiving the att from the NM BON right? how come i just read in the other post that pearson vue is the one giving the ATT? what is it now? should you pay pearson vue first before they give you your ATT?

are there new procedures? please advise...

You should always be sure that the a state BON has accepted your credentials before you pay Pearson-Vue. It takes several months to get approval, it is not instant. Yes, it is true that Pearson-Vue issues the actual ATT, but they need to have the approval sent to them from the BON before it is released.

And the compact license that you would get if you were actually a resident of NM does not exist if you are not a legal resident of that state when you apply for the license. Your license will be valid in NM only and you will need to go thru the endorsement process for any other state.

Reciprocity is only for the NCLEX exam, and nothing more.

What the BON gives you is the eligibility to sit for the NCLEX. It is recommended that you register (and pay the $200) to Pearsonvue only after receiving that. The ATT, on the other hand, is issued by Pearsonvue. That is what you bring to the testing center and present to the Pearsonvue staff together with your passport.

hello all, im an RN fr d phils

i just wanna ask if i need to complete the fingerprint certificate form and the authorization for release of information in together with the 2 fingerprint cards...

also, do i have to answer the DECLARATION OF PRIMARY STATE OF RESIDENCE

and what if my college didnt want to send my TOR directly to NM BON and instead gave me the sealed envelope containing the form and my TOR for me to mail..would NM BON still accept it..

thanks so much for your time

Ive been reading this thread for a long time now and followed each step most of you guys have done....This forum is such a big help for me.I just have a question.i dont know if this has been a question before.

I have submitted my application 2 months ago but still no email from ms vidaurri. Guess, i still have to wait a little more. But what concerns me is the signature i used in my application with NM. I used the same signature in my CGFNS application which includes my middle name but it differs from that of my passport. Would that be a problem? It is stated in NCSBN that the name on the ATT should match that in my passport but no mention about the signature.

Anyone here who applied for NM last june 2007 and already received notice of eligibility.??? I just want to know what month are they (NM BON) working on right now. I emailed ms vidaurri but no replies from her.

thanks for clarifying this :-)

for those who are asking about sending application to nm bon... i'd like to share this.

aug 24 - school sent my tor and rle

aug 27 - fedex delivered documents to nm bon

aug 28 - i emailed ms. vidaurri to confirm if the received my documents

aug 29 - i got an email from ms. vidaurri (i pasted it below)

if you have a signature i would assume that they are here. i will not see them until they are matched with application.

Hi, may I ask what a New Mexico license for RNs looks like?? Does it contain a picture of the licensee?? Am just curious, coz when I applied for licensure, we are not asked for a picture to be affixed on the application form. Or if one had already passed the application process and NCLEX, then that is the time thay the NM BON will request for a copy of the licensee's picture.

Thanks.
