Hi everyone. Does anyone know how one should go about applying for the State board in New Mexico? After the school sends the official transcript and after completing the fingerprinting requirements, how long will it take before one could be given an ATT? Thanks and have a nice day!
hello can anyone please tell me the email address of nm bon, iwould like to request for fingerprint cards. thanks
Here's NM BON website...

As for the fingerprint cards, from what I read on this thread, you can get them from the U.S. embassy. Just present your filled-up BON NM application form and state your purpose to the guard and they'll let you in (go there around 10:00AM). A bit of info, according to the NM website, you can request fingerprint cards from them, but it takes a while, some say they don't send anymore; nevertheless, it takes time if you do it that way. If you live in Manila, it's easier to get them from the embassy.
There are hundreds here. Can you be more specific as to the information that you are looking for? It makes it easier for someone to respond to you.
And if you take the time to just go back thru this thread from the beginning, you will see plenty of nurses that have gone thru the process already. This entire thread is based on those that wish to work in NM/get their initial license there as an RN.

Hi Suzanne, I guess what I meant with my question is that, is there any RN here
who is now in New Mexico working and went through the entire process from being here in the Philippines, taking NCLEX, going thru VS, and actually ended up in New Mexico and not applied for endorsement in other states.
Thanks....
The entire process is the same for any foreign nurse that wishes to work in NM, not any different for anyone.
This thread already has more than 700 posts to it, am sure that quite a few of them are going thru the process or have done it already.
And there are several that post on this forum that are now working in NM, and from many other countries as well. You do not see as many posts from a person once they get over to the US, they are much busier then with their lives and working. Most do not even get near the computer for months and months, and then just occ. drop in.
hi everyone... i have another question about transcripts being sent to new mexico board of nursing....
i am a second courser, and from what i understand, i only have to submit my transcript from the nursing school i attended. since they credited my subjects from my previous school and that those subjects are already incorporated in the official transcript of records of the nursing school i attended, i only need to submit one TOR (that of my nursing school).
my transcript is all in english, except 2 subjects... one is sining ng komunikasyon (communication arts) and panitikang pilipino (philippine literature). do i need to have these 2 subjects translated before i send them to new mexico? does anyone have the same experience?
my transcript has this: Sining ng komunikasyon
it doesn't have this: Sining ng komunikasyon (Communication arts)
i asked my nursing school if they can simply add the english translation and they said no because those filipino subjects were from my old school.
what should i do? should i go to my old school and request my transcript of records from them too to be sent to NM BON? or should i simply have it translated? or not do anything since it is only two subjects not related to nursing anyway?
Girl, you worry a lot..is your school new into sending transcript of records for NCLEX? I think they have a lot of experience with second coursers when there are diffenet schools in one transcript and with the Sining communikasyon sent as is. You ask them first. I think this subject is not credited in the Credentials of U.S. gov't too...so you don't need a translation ...since it is a Filipino Subject...okey?
Transcripts are sent to a Board of Nursing for licensure purposes, they have nothing to do with the NCLEX exam. The exam is part of the licensing process, and all credentials need to be accepted first.
You may wish to think ahead and be aware that your transcripts also will need to be submitted to CGFNS/ICHP for the Visa Screen Certificate. And all coursework must be listed in English. And they require all professional courses be submitted, not just for nursing. So you may wish to get ahead start on that. Their requirement is "all classes" --- they cannot be left off just because they are specific to the Philippines. And all must be in English. Does not matter to them what the class was in or why.

thanks so much barbie38... it's a different feeling when you start the application process, i feel queezy because this is new territory for me. it's not like applying to the PRC, plus it costs a lot, so i worry with every step i make... that's why i'm so thankful to your reply as well as all the info on this thread.... :-)

hi guys, good day
im processing my eligibily for new mexico this month. my tor was sent by my school a week earlier than i mailed my application form, i follow every (suggested) step here in the forum and everything went well.(thank you guys)my question is how long does bon declares a candidate eligible from the time they recieved the application?(they recieved my application last august 9) i'll be leaving tommorrow to saipan and have a 3 month tourist visa to visit my mom and hoping to take the nclex there at the same time during my stay. do you think i can have my att earlier than my departure date from saipan? :uhoh3:what is the latest timeframe of issuing the att to qualified candidates? im just being positive that my application for eligibility is all complete because i follow all intructions and procedures. thank you guys again for the helpful infos here.

average wait time to be able to get the att after being approved by them to test is about three to four months. you only submitted your application a couple of days ago, doubt that they have even received it as of yet.
did you actually write the nle exam? and if so, when ? and do you have passing results if you tested?
next question, how was it mailed? regular airmail from there, or courier service? if you wanted things to get their quickly, you needed to use courier, or it can be a couple of weeks until it arrives.
you are going to be hard presed to get the approval before you need to leave saipan, and even if you get it just before, then you have to try to get a slot to test. you cannot even look at the schedule for it until you have recieved the att.

if you look on the main page of the International forum there is a sticky/thread called Primer to working in the USA
If you use a search engine and type in New Mexico nursing it usually brings up the NM BON
