Hi everyone. Does anyone know how one should go about applying for the State board in New Mexico? After the school sends the official transcript and after completing the fingerprinting requirements, how long will it take before one could be given an ATT? Thanks and have a nice day!
Can anyone help me on this?
My husband is a foreign educated Nurse with a license from New Mexico. He is planning to endorse it to Texas. He is still here in our country and have not been employed yet as a Nurse in New Mexico.
Can He endorse it right away to Texas?
If so, What happens to his New Mexico license? Will it still be active until it expires in 2 years?
sure he can endorse it, and it will remain current until the expiration date. but be aware that texas requires the ces, and they will not endorse his license until they receive that.he does not need to work in the us to endorse his license.
thank you ms sabrina for your prompt reply! i have just read the requirements for texas licensure by endorsement. it says there:
if you do not meet (1) through (4) of the above requirements, then you are not eligible for licensure
in the state of texas.
1.graduation from an approved school of professional nursing (general), of at least two academic years in length which includes
theoretical and clinical instructions in medical nursing, surgical nursing, obstetric nursing, psychiatric nursing and nursing
of children.
2. a satisfactory score in one of the following examinations:
state board test pool examination (sbtpe)
- with a minimum score of 350.
national council licensure examination for registered nurses (nclex-rn®)
3. licensure from another jurisdiction which has requirements equivalent to texas.
4. must have been employed as a registered nurse during the past four (4) years (unless you have taken and passed the
appropriate rn examination with that time period).
but it doesnt mention anything about ces.
is new mexico a jurisdiction which has requirements equivalent to texas?
thank you for your help

i would think ces would come under number 1 as ces is an evaluation of your transcripts of training. just looked on this link and states if foreign trained then ces required ftp://www.bne.state.tx.us/rnend.pdf
You are posting endorsement requirement for an American nurse, not foreign trained.
Please check out their requirements for endorsement of a foreign nurse, they are different.
Texas requires the CES for anyone wishing to work there for initial licensure, and endorsement as a foreign nurse.
---------------------------------
Just because someone obtains a license in a state in the US, and have that license; they are always going to be required to follow the protocol for foreign-trained nurses. And that is for endorsement to any state.
dear suzanne,
I am a Philippine nurse and I hold a New mexico License. I would appreciate your advise on my request for NM license verification for visascreen to be sent to CGFN/ICHP.
My first request was received by NM BON Dec. 6. However, CGFN had advised me 4x of not receiving my license verification and had sent me too an Inactivity Notice. This prompted me to send a 2nd request to NM BON for License Verification (with another $30 payment) just so they would send my license verification to CGFN. My second request was received last March 26. I have been e-mailing for follow-up advise but I do not received any reply from NM BON. I tried to call but could only go thru an answering machine. I have applied for my VisaScreen since last December and the only pending item is my NM License verification. I would appreciate any advise you will be able to give me regarding this situation.
thank you for your unselfish guidance to all of us nurses.
with best wishes, mary
hello everyone... i know what i am about to ask may have been answered previously, but it takes so much time to go thru thousands of posts in this forum... i hope someone kind enough would answer my question.. okay, here it goes..
my eligibility arrived five days ago.. i wonder how long will it expire? 1year or 2years? and if someone knows how long, may i ask from where you got that information?
thank you very much!

each BON has their own eligibility. You can do a search on what you ask and is very easy to do.

The only thing that you can do is contact the NM BON until you get a response from them. But please be aware that just because you have sent it to them, it does not mean that they have received it. Are you sure that the appropriate office received it?
I would try to phone them first thing when they open in the morning, most offices start at 0830. Be aware that tomorrow, the 28th is a legal holiday in the US, all offices are closed.

It should state right on the letter when it expires. That is for the permission to sit for the exam, that is not the same as the time limit once you register with Pearson-Vue. That is usually only good for three months.
Also, just as a future tip, there is a search mode available here at the top of the forum, you just need to put in key words like you do for any other search engine and it will give you the threads that pertain to your question. You do not need to review thousands of threads, the search engine does that for you.
