New Mexico Licensure Question

Published

Hi everyone. Does anyone know how one should go about applying for the State board in New Mexico? After the school sends the official transcript and after completing the fingerprinting requirements, how long will it take before one could be given an ATT? Thanks and have a nice day!

i first emailed miss vidaurri 4x. each time, i waited about a week (kaya nagtagal). no such luck. then the good people here suggested i email BON. that's when the BON forwarded the email to miss vidaurri.

apparently (as with everyone else), miss vidaurri was forced into action when it was her superior who forwarded the email to her. so i advise you caution and courtesy when writing the email ;)

many thanks colleague..i hope everythings turn out great with our application..God bless and Good luck..

Hey..I am California Nclex passer...This state won't issue a license without having a SSN. Is New Mexico like this too? My California license will never be mine unless I have a SSN, which, my NCLEX result expires on May 2008 on its 3rd year.

I fear this would make me unregistered to California and unlicensed to the U.S.. Could I transfer my result to NM? Do they need a SSN in issuing a license? unlike Vermont? and South Carolina?

Most states will not issue license without SSN. It is something which is easily sorted once you arrive in the US with a valid work visa. Your NCLEX result does not expire it is your license to CA which expires and all you need to do is reapply to CA if you are not out there by then

hi! i'm taking the CGFNS exam this September and I'm planning to apply for NCLEX this month. Just wanted to ask the following:

1. I want to apply for NM because of its speedy processing but my heart's is in NY. I understand that if I choose NY, it will take me 9-11 months unlike NM which will only take me 3 months at most. I'm planning to apply for NM and then apply an endorsement/reciprocity for NY after. How long will the reciprocity will take? Is the time needed to apply for reciprocity equivalent to the time if I apply directly to NY instead of NM and then later endorse to NY? Which plan should I take: NM then endorse to NY or apply directly to NY? Which time will cost me less?

2. does NY require an SS# before they will issue the license just like in CA? I couldn't find a NY question & answer forum like this.

I'm hoping that you guys could help me with my dilemma. THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH! GOD BLESS :)

If you want to go to NY then much better going from the start NY. Even if you go NM first and then endorse to NY you still need to do CVS so could take a few months to process. They may require SSN they may not to endorse and the best ones to ask are them. Also has been mentioned a few times that very hard at the moment to find a petitioner in NY with hospitals.

i really appreciate your reply. THANK YOU SO MUCH! i don't have much knowledge about this whole NCLEX process.

Sir, are you saying that if i apply for NM and then apply for reciprocity for NY after, i still have to process for CVS still? is reciprocity and endorsement mean the same thing?

THANK YOU SIR

answered your other thread, gets a bit confusing when you post in different threads :)

hello again colleagues..i was wondering if someone is in the same boat with me? my applicaiotn to NM has taken long, and i've emailed the BON and ms. vidaurri...and until now they still dont have a reply...can anyone please enlighten me?

okey...i am also a nclex passer of california who has a pending application for a ny job. this is what i know....the cvs is like the ces. it evaluates the course and subjects you took up in the whole nursing school time. this cvs is special to new york only. and what i know..is that this takes a long process. i have a ces but my agency says it is not useful in ny application because it is cvs they require there.

endorsement is the same with reciprocity..most procedures in wanting to have a license in another state is called licensure by endorsement( i hope i am right)

Well the maximum days for the ATT to be issued is 3 months and as for me I have it 70 days, on the NM website , it has some revisions that requires applicant to register to pearson vue and I just follow it and it works.I also email the NM boards of nursing for some follow ups.. just be patient and if you knew that your documents and application requirements are complete you dont have to worry about it. good luck and God bless!
