New Mexico Licensure Question

Published

Hi everyone. Does anyone know how one should go about applying for the State board in New Mexico? After the school sends the official transcript and after completing the fingerprinting requirements, how long will it take before one could be given an ATT? Thanks and have a nice day!

Interesting. May I know who provided you with this info?

I also wrote to NM BON sometime this March 2007 and Ms. Vidaurri replied to me through email that you can have your license renewed even if you don't have SSN especially in the case of foreign nurses(because you still can't have one and you really don't have one), provided that you meet the CE requirements for renewal. You just provide them SSN as soon as you can.

With all these, it seems that NM BON is the most "user-friendly" BON for international nurses.

I am confused. on the renewal form, it is clearly stated that

The information below is MANDATORY for licensure including date, signature and social secury number!

am I wrong?

hi! i've applied in new mexico and have sent them my documents december 2006. the school already sent them my TOR and other documents also in december 2006. the new mexico board of nursing already charged me for the application fee (it's already reflected in my credit card), but i still haven't heard from them yet. i already emailed them but still no reply. what to do? it's almost 4 months since december and i heard it usually doesn't take this long in new mexico. please help...:scrying:

have you tried emailing the NM BON?

Pls refer to the NCLEX candidate bulletin,my friend register with Pearson Vue cause its also quite long that she havent heard anything from NM BON,she registered thru Pearson Vue and got her ATT after 2 weeks.maybe we can do the same and pray that it will work for us also..icon7.gif

Some said NM needs CES. Did you applied for the CES too? OR they evaluate your documents like vermont and California?

hi! Im new here, I just wanted to ask reg the CES..correct me ...pls. Is it SOP for all BON at any state to have their credentials evaluated first b4 further processing of documents? so what are other ways of evaluating credentials done in BON NM? just asking.....TY

Some BONs do their own credentials eval, the others use CES. There are a few that will accept others but never recommend those, as if you decide to go to another state, you would have to go thru the CES process that the other state requires.

And if you go thru a state that does their own credential eval, you are going to still need to go thru CGFNS for the CES if the new state requires it.

just got my ATT from pearson via email earlier today. finally, after almost 3 months of waiting. sent my application to NM BON jan. 23.
