New Mexico Licensure Question

Published

Hi everyone. Does anyone know how one should go about applying for the State board in New Mexico? After the school sends the official transcript and after completing the fingerprinting requirements, how long will it take before one could be given an ATT? Thanks and have a nice day!

Hi, I am a new member. I applied for CA board and passed the NCLEX in 2004.Can I apply for NM board in this year or next year and request NCLEX result from CA? Please let me know if anyone has any suggest. Thank you so much.:wink2:

Hi. Welcome. Just to clarify a few things for the others, so that we can answer your queries more accurately.

May we know why you want to apply for NM when you already passed the NCLEX thru CA BRN ?

Are you are planning to work in NM instead?

Hi meeple. If you are licensed in one State, you can apply for licensure by endorsement in New Mexico (or any other US State of your choice)--- provided you meet their requirements. Do you already have an SSN? If you don't have one, the CA license you have may not be endorsable.

Thanks so much guys, My problem right now is I emailed Ms. Vidaurri for two times already and still I havent heard from her. Is this usual? I emailed her yesterday. One more concern is I still havent receive my FCs, I requested for it last month.

hi to all. i'm new here.

i don't feel having a charmed life now :( the waiting game for att is taking too long...i'm closing in to my third week of waiting. i've been doing my follow-ups too just like starbee here. bonsai25 here is soooo lucky! only 2 weeks! my application was received -- and i believe, processed -- a day ahead of hers (either that or our application was processed at the same time) and yet i'm still waiting....huhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhu :crying2: my anxiety is growing daily but everyday is also a chance to say to myself: patience is a virtue. so it's a daily battle -- to stay relaxed (and do some reading) vs. handling the anxiety :smiley_ab

:wink2:

Thanks you so much for your reply. My current situation is that I have not yet completed all of the CA BRN requriement ( speaking test is my problem) and my file will be destroyed within the mid of next year. I am worried about anything that will happen and I don't know how to find out the solution. I have not appllied for VSC yet and absolutely I am still in my home country.

I don't mind working in any state ;however, I 've just heard about this forum that give me lots of information. I realize that I can't endosre a license.By the way, thank you for everyone. I am waiting for your response.

Hi starbee, I believe you will get a reply from Ms. Vidaurri in time. I got 2 emails from her last week and received the FP cards this monday.. You can check with the courier you used in mailing the TOR the person who received the document and the date as well. NM BON could still be sorting your document, hence, no reply yet.. Time really seems longer when you are waiting.. God bless!!

Do you have an employer willing to petition you already? You should have one before the predicted retrogression in Nov. I think this should be your top priority.

Re: your file in CA BRN, please contact CA BRN. Phone them or e-mail their licensing unit and ask if they can extend the 3 year limit and explain to them why you will not be able to comply w/ their US SSN requirement w/in 3 years rule.

CA BRN has no english req't. Only CGFNS (CGFNS certification) and ICHP (Visa Screen) has.

Hope this helps but Suzanne may have a better solution, so let's wait for her response. :wink2:

thanks for wishing me luck, bonsai25 :) i did a follow-up already so i'm just doing the waiting game right now. i don't easily get scared hehehe. it was easier to do a follow-up or make an inquiry before though. now, all you get is a machine. can't blame them, sometimes follow-ups can be a nuisance especially if you want to accomplish your daily tasks. so, in the meantime, i'm just reading the books for review.

Thanks bebe! Guys, I got my application packet already, I asked the BON to both mail it my US and Philippine address and it seems it is faster if you have your FCs sent to your US address. I'm just a bit worried about my school docs, I'd like to know first if they received my TOR then I will mail my application documents. I tried several times to call them but I end up with the answering machine do I just left a message. Hope they reply fast.

hey, Starbee, that's a good development :) hope everything works out faster this time. with your TOR, did your school used the post office instead of a courier? the snail mail takes at least 1-2 weeks -- and that's for philpost's "speed mail" already! if an international courier, like dhl or fedex, it takes 2-3 days only. better yet, you can probably ask your school as to when they sent your TOR (supposedly, along with your RLE records, too) -- you can, more or less, determine its arrival in NM BON. good luck! :)

When you do follow up the status of your application or evaluation of your credentials include the date it was mailed and the date it was received by the BON. No need to call them, they usually respond promptly through email. You will be wasting time and money talking to a machine. Don't send multiple emails in a single day or in a a span of one week. Give them a break, guys. Your papers are not the only thing they're processing. If they do not respond this week, try again the next week. It's like getting a spam mail. And isn't irritating to see multiple mails with the same topic over and over again?
