Breath Strip Menthol Eye (BSME) occurs when your breath gets too nasty from wearing a mask all day. Innocent victims try to allay the nastiness by placing a breath strip in their mouths, only to have vented breath from the top of the mask push menthol into the eyes, resulting in tears and a stinging sensation.

The kicker is, the breath improvement doesn't even last that long...

There's also PSBEB. Post Soda Belch Eye Burn. ?

I assume that that is mask-contingent as well...? If not, those'd be some pretty POWERFUL belches...?

Yep! Shoots straight up the mask and into your eyes.

You guys are funny!

And then there's the IATGYWIISTIMM syndrome, more commonly known as I ate the garlic yesterday why is it still trapped in my mask, which has been known to cause nausea and near syncope.

ICD-10-CM code please. There’s no way in hades I’m charting that!

This morning about 5 am I almost discovered a new syndrome peculiar to the slightly older crowd. Raw red eye stuffy nose syndrome or Neo Synephrine goes in the nose, not in the eye.

I learned this the other day, and have decided that my nasty "hey you had garlic pita chips in your lunch bag" is preferable to getting what feels like Listerine vapors in my eyes. Glad to know I am not the only one!

Honestly this whole pandemic and mask wearing has really made me question the deep things in life, like.....has my breath always stunk like this?!
