I am starting in September I figured it would be nice to start a thread where all of us new students could come and and share our experiences/help eachother out as we are on our way to be nurses :)

I start Sept 3rd! I have orientation July 8th & 9th. I am soooo nervous and excited! We already have a homework assignment due for orientation. I already have notecards made for that first chapter! I love that we have this website to support eachother! Congrats and goodluck everyone!

Any of my classmates on here, I will be attending Monmouth County Vocational School!

I am wondering if anyone is in the LPN program in Americare Institute in SChaumburg/ Hanover Park. How do you like the classes so far? Anything would be great

Well I haven't actually started the program as of yet but am going through the process to start this september at BOCES and was wondering if anyone went through Boces

I start NCP in Hayward, CA on the 27th. Just a few weeks away & I hear we're getting homework at orientation on the 22nd to read 5 thick chapters before class....ahhh back to school mode which I have been out of for awhile. I'm excited and nervous and trying to prepare myself for the crazy workload. Congrats to all who are and have started!

I can't believe how fast its going by. We start clinicals on monday, thank goodness.its unfortunate that my class is filled with a lot of high school BS,I've managed to stay clear of it but I'm watching my classmates sucum to it.Out of a class of 50 students 44 have made it to clinicals, from what I've heard they estimate 20-25 will make it all the way through . For me personally it hasn't been as hard as I thought I'm even considering going back to work,I hear my classmates saying "this is so hard" BUT I think its too easy JUST STUDY,STUDY,STUDY! For all of you waiting too start . Stay away from drama, don't gossip even if you think your in polite company. IT WILL BE USED AGAINST YOU.study try never to slack and watch how you ace the exams.

I'm thrilled to say that I just received my acceptance on Thursday, and I will be starting in an LPN program in September. I wish everyone the best of luck in their programs :) :yeah:

As for the post above me, I'll be doing the same...staying away from the drama. Fortunately, I will be starting my program with at least 3 other students that I have been in pre-reqs with for the past 6 months - all middle-aged, serious about doing well, and happy for the support. :)

We had orientation last week and the 2nd day you could already see the drama starting and people slacking. I think if anyone truely wants this they will do nothing but study and work there asses off and stay out of any drama or anything not related to sucess. We have about 30 students I doubt all 30 will make it, but that would be great if they did!

Hi everyone! I got in NS!! I got my acceptance letter in May, had orientation in June and start school on Aug.17. I'm so nervous and anxious.:redbeathe I've heard so many horror stories about NS. I've worked as a CNA for two years off and on so I know a little about the nursing field. I also know that I have a whole LOT more to learn and experience.

I don't know if I'm going to be able to work or not. I have to wait and see how NS is going. I know I will have to study a lot and I am getting prepared for that. I'm trying to get as much done as I can over the summer so I can devote my time to NS.

Congrats to everyone for getting in NS and to everyone for doing so well!!:yeah: Soon I'll be posting about how school is going for me.!!! :lol2:

Have you tried study groups. Maybe you need more visual aid. When I study, I am a visual learner as well as a hands on learner. So maybe you could read the chapters and then google images or youtube better explanations like videos (I have learned so much and can still remember some because of the imaging). Then maybe later after you have looked over the material by yourself, study with a group. Everyone learns at different paces, sometimes people can learn after just scanning or reading once, and for others it takes about like 5-6 times to get the information to actually click.

I wish you all the best and don't give up. Talk to your teacher and ask for help! =)
