I started looking in April, i applied for about 17 positions. Graduated in May and got a job offer the beginning of June. But I live in central CA and my city is very fond of local new grads. Most of my class has been hired by local Versant programs.

Specializes in Cardiac, ER, Pediatrics, Corrections.

Graduated May 3rd. Took my NCLEX 3 weeks later. I just got my first nursing job last week! So about 2 months is what it took.

Specializes in MedSurg, PACU, Maternal/Child Health.

This was for 2 years ago. But may be it help you to know.

Too many rejections to count, 7 interviews, multiple offers

Accepted offer at end of June, will start New Grad ICU program in August.

I think it's relevant to note that, with the exception of one hospital, the others took 4-8 weeks to respond to applications and schedule interviews.

Applied to 3 jobs by March. Got 2 offers (one in Baltimore offered end of May and one in Nashville offered in end of April). Never heard back from one.

Past experience as an extern and home health aide

My sister is a nurse in Texas...she said they always need nurses especially @ her job in Houston. Nursing homes will hire you quickly too. Im always willing to relocate if necessary.

Graduated in early May. Passed NCLEX 28 days later and got offered first job exactly a month after that. Applied to over 100 different positions between April-July!!

Offered a position on July 18 at a teaching hospital in Ga on a Cardiac telemetry step down floor

-Applied to any and all nurse residency programs in the area before graduation and for about a month after graduation (About 7 total)

-Had 4 interviews

-Received 2 job offers before taking NCLEX

-Passed NCLEX in February 2014

-Began working as a nurse resident on a Med/Surg unit in March 2014
