New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

FOr those who are planning to choose CON for their BP, I suggest you try other BP schools like AAON and WLI.

I have paid 10000AUD last February but still haven't received any visa offer letter. :( Been sending emails to ***** but she doesn't reply to any of them. I rang her too but it is as if she's hurrying to put the phone down. Tsk.

I also know some with visa already but wasn't selected for the April intake. I believe they are already receiving high volume of applicants (with payments made) but can't accommodate them all that's why they put up a May intake as an addition to July and September. hehe.

This is only my view ok? Or maybe I'm already frustrated. Oh well, God has plans for all of us. :)

hey glitzdelight! long time no hear. so how are you now? sorry to hear about this. so where are you enrolling now?

cummulus!

yeah, but I've been lurking. hehe. :)

Still at CON. I will just patiently wait for my visa offer letter. Can't afford to withdraw my application, they would charge 10% of 10,000AUD

Ladydee-RN, Aila, G3stalt, Angelslove, Ishtin, Irin, Mr. E-nigma,

Here's what my case officer replied. And this time, it was another case officer.

" Please be informed that your application is still in assessment. Due to the high volume of applications received, we cannot guarantee a time frame."

Im kinda confused because, i was told yesterday (via the ahpra website inquiry) that my application is already for final approval.

I sent another email to my NEW C.O. to clarify what she meant.

I'm so frustrated I wanna cry and pull my hair out.:banghead:

I don't know what to think now. :bluecry1:

I just spoke to a SA representative. They said they will start where WA left. They are not going to assess it back to zero. But they encourage me to apply to the state where i plan to work or anything. Does it matter? I mean? When i applied to SA then do bp in wa or vic and work in another state? Does different state have different loe?

Hi. This is my first post here, so please bear with me.

Anyhoo, I tried reading some of the posts here. I'm interested because I also sent an application to AHPRA. I just recently received an email that my papers are for final assessment.

I understand that a number of you have already gone through this process. Can you give me a rought time frame as to how long this process usually takes before they give me the final approval?

Also, what's LOE? lol.

What I know is that it doesn't matter if you lodged your ahpra application in a state where you don't intend to work.. A friend said she lodged her ahpra application this January in SA but until now, she hasn't received her LOE.. So you better be decided if you would want to transfer your docs.. ;)

@ I LOVE DOGS I have received an email last Feb 15 that my application is for final approval too. Unfortunately, it's almost a month now but I have no LETTER OF ELIGIBILITY or LOE . .. One of the members here got her LOE 6 weeks after receiving that kind of email. The LOE is the key for us to take the bridging program in Australia.

when I followed up my application that was also what they told me. I think the final approval stage is still considered as an assessment stage. What our co told us is that our docs are complete but its still for final approval meaning they still have to assess every detail in our papers.

HI EVERYONE I called AHPRA-WA, she confirmed that they sent an email stating that my application is for final approval. I asked them if they are assessing my application already. She said that they are done assessing it and it is already for FINAL APPROVAL. She also mentioned this "It takes time for them", THEM referring to the board of WA maybe because they are the one who will approve our application.

(Their response is opposite form Vanessa's post, but I guess they mean the same thing.)

@VANESSA I understand how you feel van . . I am trying to teach myself to be patient because our situation is draining all my patience.

Hi, Ladydee! Thanks for the reply. I got my email last March 07. I guess waiting for a decision is the hardest thing to do. The suspense is killing me. lol. Good luck to us!

I'm asking because if it will take a long time, I might accept a job in the Middle East while waiting for this. But if I do, that would mean being tied for two years in a contract, so I wanted to get an idea. How about you? Currently working? Where? If you don't mind my asking. :)

@ Ailathanks. i do hope so. its friday tomorrow, another week passed by, i hope we get some good news next week. its kind of dreary and bleak here in the forum.

@ I LOVE DOGS I will send you a PM. By the way, where did you pass your application? What state? . .
