New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Part 1 thread New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand - Nursing for Nurses

hi everyone!

regarding the proof for vaccination, would old baby records be sufficient? or do we need to undergo a new set of vaccination to get a recent certification? thanks!

:crying2: HUHUHU . . .I'm having a dilemma about transferring my application to SA. . . I will call AHPRA tomorrow. . . I am really impatient about this . . :mad:

@ANGELSLOVE. . .I sent you a pm. . TY

hi ladydee-rn! i think it would be a great risk if you would be transferring your docs to SA. but still try to inform your case officer about this. before I got my email saying that my papers are for final approval, I told my case officer that I am thinking of having my files transferred and she said that all I have to do is inform her that I would like to have my files mailed to another state but this won't be an assurance that my application would be prioritized. then after i think 3-5 days i got their email saying that my papers are for final approval already.

i just don't know if they would do "special endorsement", meaning if WA already checked the completeness of the application all SA have to do is the "final assessment." if that's the case then maybe it would be a lot faster there as you would not be really "back to zero." but if they would do the initial assessment all over again, I suggest you wait until the end of this month.

when did you receive your email stating that your application is for final approval already?

I am not too sure about this but I think some vaccines would depend on your serology results. In my case, I had a booster shot for rubella (was it rubella? Forgot already. Yes, you guessed it right, dementia much) hahaha! I suggest to get your serology test done first. Disclaimer: I am not very knowlegable about this matter since I did my vaccine checks in Sydney. So please don't take my word for it. Hahaha!

@AILA Thanks for the information . .Yeah, you are right .. I will not transfer my documents, it's too risky as what I have posted earlier .. AHPRA emailed me that my application is for final approval last FEb 15 . ..I hope by March 29 I will receive my LOE ( estimated 6 weeks after receiving that email). . .:nurse:

HI SEPHINE Somebody posted that baby books are not sufficient.. It's either you will have a serology test or get a booster dose and get a certification from your Doctor. . Try to browse the posts ..

Base on what I read in the old post, it's not an assurance that it is acceptable, so better make a certification from your pedia. I'm sure your baby book will be enough for your pedia to give you a certification... You're at least lucky to have that baby book... mine was lost so I'm thinking to have the shots all over again...:(

Thanks... but I was surprised because they replied already last tuesday... They said that their office is tues-fridaythr..They also said that the April intake was full.. But go4dgold said that there will be a May intake... I hope that's true and that I will be able to get the LOE on time...
i received an email from **** today that the may intake is already finalised and it will commence may 25...and alsobthe selction process for the intake hasnt started yet..
