Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Part 1 thread New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand - Nursing for Nurses
to everyone that has the same or almost same timeline as me...vanessa, ladydee, enigma, aila, etc...
i have just read my e-mail... i inquired through their ahpra website... i suggest you do the same if you want to receive replies...
as for me, i constructed my e-mail in a way that i was complaining/confirming with the different rates of assessing applications... so i received a different response compare to vanessa. here is their reply:
[color=#454545]dear *********,
[color=#454545]thank you for your online enquiry.
[color=#454545]please be advised that all applications are assessed on their own merits. even though one of your friends application was escalated for final approval first it probably was that you have different case officers who are completing applications at different rates.
[color=#454545]you will be contact if further progress on your application has been made.
[color=#454545]your patience is appreciated.
[color=#454545][color=#4bacc6]please do not respond to this email as the account is not monitored. a service request has been logged for this enquiry.
[color=#454545][color=#4bacc6]if you have any further questions, please call ahpra on 1300 419 495. alternatively, please follow the[color=#17365d][color=#17365d]web enquiry link, [color=#4bacc6]ensuring you include the service request number in your enquiry.
i guess guys (and gals) you need to be patient. I was very impatient when I was waiting for my registration but I think the more I email and contact them, the more my application got "side-tracked" and all. It took 7 months before I got my registration (AHPRA ACT by the way). And for the most part, they are very prompt. I think one of the reasons it took that long was because the director of registrations went on vacation. Also because of the complexity of my case.
But you'll all soon get your LOE's. God Bless.
HUHUHU . . .I'm having a dilemma about transferring my application to SA. . . I will call AHPRA tomorrow. . . I am really impatient about this . .
@ANGELSLOVE. . .I sent you a pm. . TY
Please wait a couple of weeks.. Maybe till end of the month... I really have feeling that if you transfer, it will be back to zero...plus the time it will take to transfer... You might still be waiting for your transfer while we finally get our LOEs... I mean you are so near the 6 months, I feel that it will be a waste to transfer... please wait... I don't want you to regret...
Goodluck on your LOE! I think CON opens "special intake dates" to accomodate a great number of applicants. Just like last year, I think their October intake was not originally in their course dates. (I am not sure, please don't quote me on this. Hahaha!) How long have you been waiting now for your LOE?
AHPRA received my documents last Nov 7, 2011, got my final approval letter feb.28 2012.. So that's 4 months now... Hopefully, I receive the LOE before May 2012, if there really is a CON May intake...
hi! i got my loe roughly after 8 months of lodging my application. it took it that long even if i personally lodged it while i was still in australia. and throughout that time, i kept on bombarding them with questions about the status of my application (calling thru their hotline, emails, and personally going to their office). it was really a stressful time for me since i was not sure if i would get it in time (before my student isa expires). i don't want you to get discouraged from applying in ahpra nsw but i have a good friend from work (i worked as an ain) who is also a filipino rn who still haven't got his loe. i think he's been waiting for one whole year now.
oh my!!! 8 months is extremely long!!! im losing my hopes for con's assessment for july
were you able to submit all the requirements, or did you lack some? they say it greatly affects the process.
byt the way, may i know
when should i request for the official copy of ielts result and certificate of good standing? should i wait for ahpra to ask me for these documents or can i just send it on the same day i pass my application?
@Gestalt Thanks for the information. I hope our case officers will be diligent enough to complete the assessment.
I know! I'm trying to think positive and I hope that my LOE will arrive soon, if not, at least someone, anyone as long as s/he's from the AHPRA-WA... So that at least I know someones application is moving...(sigh)

after sending your ahpra application, you can already send your
official copy of ielts result and certificate of good standing to ahpra... because that's what i did...
